Our set pieces aren't that shit - we've scored more from them than any other side in the league this season.
And possibly conceded more too.
But we had 16 corners last night
and only Alderweireld got his head on one
which Schmeichel turned over.
With Eriksen off the boil they aren't that immpresive
at the moment

I'm sure we could score from a lot more if we could beat the first man on a regular basis. May even win a few games from it.

But that could be said of any side though. The fact we're more successful at them than anyone in the league surely shows we're doing something right.

Thought we beat the first man a lot on Wednesday, except then every corner was a high floated one that is easy to defend against. Need to find that middleground, beat the first man but don't put it so high they can stand and wait for it to land at them.

Been shaking my head in utter disbelief since the goal. I can't understand how we lost that. There's no way that should happen with the way we played tonight and the amount of the ball we had in and around danger zones.

Unfathomable.

We always seem to have most possesion in games but we are just not direct enough. To much passing and not enough shots and with Kane beggining to look a little burned out not buying a striker in the summer is going to bite us in the bum.

Still waiting for someone to name the amazing, available and affordable striker Levy's supposed to sign.

We all agree we need a striker. Is Berahino the answer?

Berahino wont be signed there is to much bad blood with the clubs or at least with both Chairman. I think Remy would be a great choice and he is available as Chelsea want to buy a striker.

Well... That was shite. We looked so promising as well, but it's like the midfield just sort of fucked off for a while. No creativity in the final third.

Tbf Leicester have been doing this all season. Putting up a wall and then grabbing opportunities as they come. Classic Italian stuff.

I'll also say that I saw the worst performance from a referee in a long time tonight. The **** was an absolute mentalist, and ought to be locked up for some of that shit. Poor Harry Kane was getting the utter shit kicked out of him all game, to the point where he could barely lift his feet to run. And did the ref protect the boy? No. Instead he repeatedly penalised him for holding his ground.

Utter utter **** basket.
Every time we lose the referee's a "xxxx"All refs have bad games from time to time and all teams have their share of it in a season but if you listen to a lot of guys on here they all want to fuck us.

No, that was a specifically bad performance from the referee... he was half the reason Harry could barely lift his legs come the 80th minute, as he'd been getting lumps kicked out of him and had no protection.

The reason he couldn't "barely lift his legs" was he's had to carry the striker role every game on his own and we all knew trhat was going to happen eventually this season without back up for him. You can't blame the ref for that.Thats managements fault.

Eriksen needs dropping. He's a total passenger. Seems to have replaced Paulinho as the player with the least bottle and guts in the squad. He just can't grab a game by the scruff of the neck like he should be capable of.
He's still the only player that can deliver that special ball that can turn a game far more than Lamella's flashy flicks that usually end up back with the opposition. I agree that he has games where his contribition is minimal but there are also many that have been won with his free kicks. I know you can't just pick a player for his free kicks alone but we need him at the moment as there is no one else. Play him and when he's having a quiet game then sub him as we normally do.

Not that I necessarily agree, but he would say he bought Son and N'Jie for that reason.
I still can't see what N'jie has to offer other than speed. He can't pass or shoot straight and just runs around in circles. I sometimes wonder if anybody actually watches these players before we buy them. Son started well in Europe but since then when he plays he just doesn't know when to release the ball and is constantly being caught in possesion.

I still think we are ahead of where we should be and next season is when we will be winning these type of games and turning the draws into wins. Its a work in progress.
I think we said that last season and the season before. We've been a work in progress for more than 20 years.

You know in the majority of cases it takes players coming from foreign leagues at least 18 months to fully adapt. It would be pretty harsh to write off Son and Njie after only a handful of games.

Just a thought, could the problem of our inconsistent corners be to do with WHL itself?

I've noticed the pitch ends and merges with slippery blue Tarmac material, Eriksen only has a short distance to take his run up before striking the ball. Quite often he looks unsteady in his initial push off the blue material?

Maybe I'm just clutching at straws..

Son in Germany was crazily good, he just need to fully adapt.

I'm certainly not writing off Son as he has shown that he has ability he just needs to be told to release the ball sooner as he did in his first couple of games. But N'jie to me has nothing to offer the side at all.

Thats because we change manager too often. Poch has only been here for 1.5 seasons and most of our team haven't even been in this league for 3 years so yes, at the moment we are a work in progress.
