They are not mutually exclusive points.

I was criticizing the decision of the player to cross when there is no one in the box.

Not the concept of having players in the box, not the concept of the players getting into the box quicker, nor the concept of crossing the ball to them.

But as previous stated: I want all the players in all the boxes scoring all the goals!
YAY! lets all go and stand in a box. RIGHT NOW! doesnt have to be a football related box either. im off!

The underlying thing that's not being taken into account, is the players (whether it's Rose, Walker, Trippier or Davies) are surely being told to cross it into the box? If they weren't being told to do it, surely Poch would've told them to bloody well stop it?

Which, I guess, brings us to the crux of the problem, ie no 'plan b' , and very little diversity in tactics?

I disagree with this assessment.

In my opinion, we looked much more threatening than they did. We had the ball for far longer and did get the ball into the penalty. We also forced the best save of the game out of Schmeichel. Lamela had two very good chances, as well, and we had a few very good looks from just outside the penalty area.

They had that one series of events when we made a few blocks, but that was a mad scramble, and anything can happen in those situations. It's not like they created it. It was a long ball that fell kindly to them after Toby nodded it down and shit happened from there.

There is no way in my mind that they "deserved" to win that game. They piled men behind the ball and hoped to hit us with a long ball, on a counter, or on a set piece. I think we were better value, but things didn't go our way. Shit happens and we move on.

As always football is about opinions and i thought they set up well like sunday and again done us on a set piece.
They seem to have our number which is often the case that some teams do better against certain teams, but as you say shit happens i am happy the way we are moving forwards, but i thought a draw was the right result.

I am sure they are instructed to cross the ball when appropriate, the manager can't be held responsible for the individual decision making though.

Much like I doubt the players are instructed to dwell on the ball, to very rarely try and play through the oppositions lines, to miscontrol the ball at vital times etc.

I don't think you need a plan b, you need different players or a different plan a.

I am happy with how we have been playing, I think with a little more care in the final third plan a would be fine.

I am at a bit of a loss with our fullbacks. Rose is the superior left back by a country mile I dont undertand how Davies is anywhere near the team. Right back is even more perplexing Walkers got so many technical flaws and no natural football nouse. Trippier just looks slow and physically lacking.

Rotating the FB's is fine but playing the more defensive minded LB in the league game is just another display of how little ambition we're seeing from Poch. I'm just glad Scott Parker isn't at the club any longer or we'd probably see him subbed on in stoppage time!

Disagree with you about Davies. Rose's final ball leaves a lot to be desired, and defensively like Walker has lapses. Concedes far too many needless free kicks and needless corners.

It is all about opinions. I do like Rose though.

We need a bit of spark from the bench - our squad is good and quite solid but lacks a bit of wildcard madness.

That was the worst defeat we have had in ages. A massive 6 pointer against a top 4 / dare i say it 'title rival'. What makes it even harder to take is the other results......city and Arse both dropped points. We could of been within a point of Leicester, ahead of city and closed the gap to Arse.

Unfortunately Durham on Talksh*te was right - we bottled it and the main reason was that we did not have that cutting edge / final finish. If we do not get in a striker this window then the club will have failed massively in the window.

We still have City, Liverpool, Pikeys and Chavs away from home with Arse and Utd to come to us. None of those games we could be certain of a win in and all of those teams (except Chavs) are in and around us.......some very tough games to play still

Sadly i heard that **** on talksport today with the bottle rattling saying this will be done everytime spurs lose.
Trouble is partly he has a point because as we all know when we have a good chance of anything we tend to find a way of chucking it away, its Standard spurs.
We most definatley need another striker to provide more cutting edge its obvious to all, even though we have been playing well we struggle to take those chances.
We have allowed clubs like West ham to catch us up because of Our failure to see off opponents having gained one point out of six and nine draws.

This really was on one the more painful defeats i can remember. This wasn't just any game, but one that would have us looking up the table instead of worry about those behind us. A win would have added more confidence and given Leicester another blow, but instead we gave Leicester a much needed boost when they were struggling.

What really hurt is that i started to believe that this team was different, and i smiled at other supporters forums when they mentioned that we would do "a spurs" at some point as i really believed we would beat Leicester and solidify our top 3 position. But here we are, the pressure was on and we obviously lost. Now that old fear of our season collapsing start to sneak back in, and i hate it.

Have to give credit to Leicester - quite enjoyed their approach! We played well too and H was unlucky with that shot off the bar.

I'm still very puzzled on how our set pieces are so shit or bust! I've never seen anything like it. It's literally like watching a group of 10 year olds trying to cross in 11 aside for the first time in most parts. Then suddenly 1 wordie floats in and we score from it. Very odd.

I would hardly call playing Davies a defensive move when last night he played more dangerous crosses and was more integral to our attacking play than Rose has been all season.

Our set pieces aren't that shit - we've scored more from them than any other side in the league this season.

It was a bitch. I woke up this morning praying it was a bad dream then reality kicked in lol.

A real shame but we just have to move on and luckily we've another game on Saturday which is very winnable.

Back to winning ways, and a resounding win would do wonders after last night, and I don't think last night will have any long term repercussions, just a mere set back if we manage to bounce back.

But failing to win on Saturday off the back of last night could have a very negative impact on our season.
