At least they know how to break down teams.....Suarez and Sturridge and we have Roberto....sorry today's performance sums up our lack lustre approach. Next week guaranteed defeat against Everton...
Yeah, cos we're so easy to beat.

A win is a win and one can't complain too much about that, however I will be very unhappy if we line up the same way against Everton. I have never seen Lennon play well on the left so I don't know why after coming back from a relatively long injury and a uninspired Europa performance he would suddenly be able to. Eriksen and Lamela need a run of games in the first team. We brought them in to take us forward. Yes they will make mistakes and go missing from time to time, but in order to adjust to the PL they need to play for extended periods in the PL.... Not just the odd cameo. I just hope AVB doesn't embrace today's team as his new ideal line up otherwise we could be in line for another West Ham.

west brom play free flowing football right now, so they lose big against decent teams or win against the shittier cluns.

anyone who expected us to win this easily was fooling themselves..

1000000000%

HUll havent been anyone whipping boys this year and to be honest, our performance this week was in my opinion better than last weeks, and next week will be better still.

Yes, we arent linking the midfield with the attack, but we were trying harder today, we have more energy and we were unlucky with some of our through balls which just about didnt find the players making their runs.

Im really not dooming at all. I can see a good team in there fighting to get out.... why dont we listen to the manager and get behind this young team, lift them up and help them achieve the greatness they want to do in our backyard.

There will come a point where we dont fluke a goal or earn a penalty.

100% agree with that statement, i just disagree with the sentiment behind it....... it can be expressed positively as well, as in ...... when things properly click we wont need the fluke goal to win because we would have won the game already....

Is it not a worrying thing therefore just how fine our margins are?

3 penalties and complete fluked cross/goal account for 4 of our 9 goals. Thats 5 goals from open play in 9 games.

And its not new its a continuation of last season where we suffered exactly the same archilles heel and was pulled out of the fire game after game by Bale.

You do realise we have had 81 shots on goal this season.......

thats 81, no 4 or 5 or even 10

81 attempts that have hit the target. I know some are from outside the box etc but in now way are we lacking the goal scoring oppourtunities in disease like fashion. Finishing them, maybe......

some decision making by players at significant times have cost us opportunities to win by greater margins too....

Im not saying we are playing beautfiully atthe moment, but we are not just a team that defends and sits back. We are a team who has to find away through a mathmatical disadvantage in terms of opposition players to our players in a limited amount of space.....

Pretty much all of our offensive players are playing within themselves at the moment, once they all settle and click we will look a lot more clinical - we will also I'm sure bring in more quality talent over the next couple of windows.
Holtby for example was in yesterday after soldado blocked the keepers clearance but instead of chesting it into space on his stronger left foot he took it towards the defender on his right & ended up giving away a free kick. We are just lacking that little bit of class in the final third that a couple of other teams are currently displaying.
Most of the new signings will get better at this over time & any that don't will be replaced. In the meantime in this season of transition if we can get into the top 4 by being hard to beat & winning most games (as we are at the moment) this will help us attract the type of players than can really kick us on & provide the quality football that we ideally want to see.

How many chances has Soldado been created inside the area.

81 over 9 games, isnt a huge amount. 9 a game. the vast majority of which have been outside the area.

Genuinely not being facetious here, but please explain to me what you believe will happen when we 'click', are you seriously expecting a about turn in our methodology and tactics? Clicking/gelling normally entails becoming more proficient and natural when implementing the chosen philosophy.

We have chosen to go down the high possession slow risk-averse route. Are you suggesting we are going to suddenly throw our shackles?

Not at all, but are you saying that are attack is as fluid as it can be? our players know each other well enough by now? we have played enough games together that you can see no improvement coming from anywhere? Instincively knowing where runs are being made doesnt just happen overnight. Im not saying we are going to become a different team, just be able to do the things we are trying to dop better.

Agreed. But you need to actually be doing something to improve at it.

We cant improve our runs if we arent making them, our movement if we arent moving. It just doesnt look like its a work in progress. We simply arent attempting to play with tempo or aggression, so I fail to see how its going to click into something we arent promoting.

You cant just suddenly start hitting 300 yard drives when you dont go down the driving range.

Are you seeing some signs of intention that Im not?

.... no we tend to sit in the middle of their half doing nothing.
I always knew Vinny Sideways was ahead of his time

For me personally, when we click I expect the new signings to become better more fluent players as they adjust to the league, link up better with each other, trust their 1 touch play more, get to know each others runs better & therefore link up play quicker this all leads to more confidence & hence more clinical displays. We will still be solid with high possession and high lines but we will hopefully mix this up with longer spells of more dynamic play, essentially having another gear to go to when we need it. Townsend will only get better, lamela will I'm sure add something to the team at some point & hopefully we might get a new flying left back come january or at least the return of rose.
We have a tremendous squad depth wise but holtby, eriksen, sig etc do not yet possess the class of a vdv (or mata, silva etc) in that 10 role & we do not have another Modric passing type to start off every move. We've also lost our match winner in Bale. We are trying to do it a different way & that takes time. All things considered we are doing ok.
