Only consolation i guess is i watched Southampton who play 4-2-3-1, and they were at it from the first whistle, mind you they wasnt really playing a high line, and they played with width and lots of movement..have to say tho there build up play was much quicker, and didnt see much sideways and back passing, they pretty much hunted in packs to close the ball down and gain posession...maybe thats what AVB should be implementing if hes incistent on playing 4-2-3-1!

We have conceded in 3 of our 15 games. How can we lose if the opponent never has the ball across the half way line?

Personally I enjoy when Spurs win, and hate it when Spurs lose. Half of our fans probably would enjoy losing 9-10, cos we scored 9 goals init.

Thats why we dont concede. Well done.

The problem is we dont have the ball across the half way line as well.

But surely AVB's supposedly negative tactics and slow build up player would have meant they scored less? Just saying

Maybe during his one season in charge he didnt have time to beat the ingrained attacking instincts out of the club?

Given time he can do a fantastic job of it.

If you don't conceede goals the players confidence will grow accordingly. In that way they will be more patient because we know we only need to score one goal to win. When/if soldado and townsend start scoring consistently we will be confident of both scoring and not conceeding. Then the shoulders will go down and we fans start to see som great football from our team.

It's the other way around that is bad: When you know you have to score 3 or 4 to have a chance at winning. Shoulders go up and play goes bad.

As long as we get the points the great attacking play will come at some time.

Don't worry, support AVB and support the team! We have 19 points ffs!!!

Is it not a worrying thing therefore just how fine our margins are?

3 penalties and complete fluked cross/goal account for 4 of our 9 goals. Thats 5 goals from open play in 9 games.

And its not new its a continuation of last season where we suffered exactly the same archilles heel and was pulled out of the fire game after game by Bale.
Come xmas i could be on your side of the fence and can see where your concerns are.
Lack of goals and some dodgy passing would be concerning if we are not winning and come xmas i hope these concerns are addressed
On passing, i thought chiri was our best passer today.
Couple of dodgy moments, dont all defenders have these, but he looks so comfortable with the ball.
His distribution was superb, welcome vlad your a true spurs player.

Not the free flowing football we are used to but we are not playing to our full potential but still sit 4th in the league and are only 3 points off the team at the top who, incidentally, are playing some great football and will be due a slump at some point.

It will click once the players have settled.

We were starting to play good footie then we had a bad game against westham hopefully With a home game mid week we can work on things sometimes I think we forget midweek games a distraction and don't let u work on training ground stuff. I feel disappointed and annoyed but we need to give it time and our team our support. We are still 3 points off first and have not clicked yet ;)

I don't really see the issue with the results at the moment - with so many changes to the team a transitional period was inevitable. The fact they are still winning whilst that transition occurs, albeit narrowly, is surely a good thing. You would think that once the team settles the results will come more easily and if they don't then fine they will deserve criticism but for now they are winning whilst trying to gel which is fine by me

And I may add not conceding many goals either.

Last season Gareth Bale 'was painting over the cracks' and we got are highest points tally ever. This season we're still winning matches so so whats the reason this time?
Ummmmm...

I can't be asked to debate with someone who either has there head buried in the sand, modern day football fan where results only matter and fuck everything else or just on a mission to piss people off for having the ability state the obvisous, speak from heart and have the guts to say it as it is.

Also, I need your home address so I can buy you a new pair of rose tinted for Christmas, CHEERS!! (y)

I'd love us to be playing more attractive football and banging in the goals, but I'm not too unhappy with what we're doing at the moment.

When building a team, one of the key things to do is to make them solid defensively, organised, difficult to beat, etc. We've done that, and in the process we've still done very well in the league and the cups.

The next challenge is to get the attacking into gear - and I firmly believe we'll do it, though it may take a while, even until next season. Many of the players can and will improve, and AVB will keep learning how to get the best out of the team and improve his tactics.

Look at what Mancini did with Man City. For the first couple of seasons he concentrated on getting that solidity and he was widely criticised for negative or boring tactics. Then in 2011/12 they won the title, scoring 33 goals more (in the league) than they had the previous year.

OK, so I'm not claiming we're going to win the league next year, but it's certainly a good blueprint for success. Anyway, I'm pretty happy about where we are now, I just hope the fans have the patience to keep supporting the team through this period and I'm sure we'll be seeing more attractive football in the not-too-distant future.

Another goal, another win and only 3 points behind the leaders.

Also, our best-ever start to a Premier League season, i.e. 20 years. Probably a bit longer than that too?

As I said above, we've got plenty of room for improvement, but in the meantime we're doing pretty well.
