Yeah fair enough I don't know if Chadli is necessarily the best option out there. But I'm fed up with Lennon and Townsend and if Sigurdsson is picked then the forum would implode.

I think if we had Sandro and Dembele fit then maybe 4-4-2 would be a bit more viable, but I think Paulinho has shown that he's pretty vulnerable in a midfield 2.

Even so, I actually think playing 3 in midfield allows us to be more attacking and that's what we should be going for.

Good point on Paulinho and I agree, a two of Sandro and Dembele would be better in this scenario.

Paulinho doesn't work in a two he's definitely best in a three, but I was assuming Dembele was out.

Fairly certain he played on the right in one game under Sherwood, for the life of me i can't remember what one, think it was Southampton, put a fantastic cross in though and looked comfortable, that much i can remember.

Yeah you're right, it was a cameo appearance wasn't it?

Still not a lot of game time and I don't think we've seen too much from him yet if we're being honest.

Needs a run of games to really judge him to be honest, but i suppose that goes for a few of our new signings, prefer him on the left but would of been interesting if he had started behind Ade against Chelsea.

I hate to be too negative, but I can only see a positive result for us if Sherwood's rant has somehow galvanised the players...which seems unlikely.

I don't want to either but I can only say what I feel although it annoys some on here but also have to say I haven't been confident going in to any game this season.

1. Look at our last 4-5 performances.
2. Count the number of chances/goals Lennon, Townsend and Gylfi have created.
3. Count the number of chances/goals Chadli have created.
4. Start wondering why he the guys in point 2. gets so many more minutes than the guy in point 3.

You should be confident and feel free to shoot from anywhere, because Artur will be in the starting line-up :(

We need to be safe with our center backs now. I'd go Kaboul one match a week. So its either this or the NLD. Im saving for the NLD 10 times out of 10. Vertonghen should sit. I dont like his attitude recently and he's been poor. Brad goes one of the legs. He was fantastic in Ukraine. Im not sure how he'll do at Benfica, so save Lloris for that one.

I would rather play our strongest XI v Benfica and take one game at a time. Picking a weak XI with NLD in mind is worst thing we could do. If we loose to Benfica at lane picking a weak team, then we put ourselves in a situation of 3 defeats in a week.

Our players need confidence & not be a punching bag.

Winning against Benfica -might even give that much needed energy against Arsenal.

Maybe the manager isn't happy with his attitude or the effort that he is putting in for the team.To be honest I don't see Chadli breaking into a sweat very often. The guy has all the attributes to be a very good player for us but currently he lacks the drive/hunger to do it.

lennon, townsend, sigurdsson and chadli all usually offer next to nothing so why waste a place on them.

I would agree, none of them are currently worth a shirt.
Townsend is playing for himself,Lennon is invisible as an attacking force,Chadli barely breaks sweat for the team and Siggy ............well,he is just Siggy.

Its a bit harsh to judge townsend yet as he hasn't been fit all season and I don't think he has shown what he can do. Under AVB he was a joke but there was a match other day, cant remember but he looked really good for 45 mins before petering out. He has been poor at times but hopefully after a run of games Im hoping he looks like the player who got England to the world cup

I was in Lisbon and WHL in 1962.

We were cheated big time especially in Lisbon.

We had the best Spurs team ever at that point.

Sir Stanley Rous president of FIFA pushed for a World Club cup at that time pretty much in the belief Spurs could win it as European Champions.
