Does it occur to you that the reason that every time he plays there is no supply because every time the ball goes near him in the build up, he gets bullied off it by the centre backs? He doesn't offer any runs behind the defence any more, if he ever did. Everything is static. It's just not good enough, and we look a poorer side with him as the spearhead.
You missed harry goal then?

Besiktas deserved the draw, but we must not forget that we put out our second string side tonight.

We looked far more comfortable with Stambouli providing cover, and he should've stayed on over Bentaleb. Nabil was poor tonight and doesn't provide a lot defensively. Dembele is a bit stronger in the tackle but he's not a defensive minded player either. Stambouli provides a similar job to Capoue in that he'll sit back and marshall, allowing his partner to aide in the attack. Him and Dembele would've held things up better.

The other mistake was taking Soldado off. I'd have rather gone 4-3-3 and bring Dembele on for Soldado to sure things up than make a like-for-like substition when a goal up against a confident Besiktas side. Soldado started off quietly but grew into the game, and was very good in the second half until he went off. He opened up the space for Kane's goal by dragging the centre back out of position. He also played a few good balls with some nice touches. He's got a lot better control than Ade and certainly has a bit more creativity and flair about him. As I said earlier, I think he'd do well with our more creative attacking trio of Chadli, Lamela and Eriksen. When he came off we didn't have that clever movement up front which would allow Kane and the wingers to find space.
I honestly think Soldado has the best control we've seen at the club since Berbatov. Played with the right people behind him he will shine.

The hype after the first 2 wins and the little momentum we built disappeared so quickly after the Liverpool thrashing. Since then it's been very slow and pedestrian. We haven't got going really in most games. It's like we have no confidence or momentum. Need a couple of good wins, convincing wins to get things going. Resting so many players is killing us. Team hasn't a clue from week to week. Pray we don't make Europe next season.

If he played in a better team he'd score a ton of goals. Team like Valencia..... oh wait

I'm not worried what Tim and co said, I actually was very encouraged by Soldado tonight and I really hope he starts on Sunday.
The problem is that he put in lots of good performances last season as well. He just didn't score or create loads of assists. When you don't score and you're a striker it doesn't really matter how well do everything else.

Bullied off by the centre backs...?

Does bullied include harassing their player back to their corner?

Oh and not really being passed too... I mean it really is hard to get bullied off the ball when no one is passing the ball forwards at all.

Anyway, it is clear you are not watching the game... Not wasting my time.

Would have been a travesty if we had beaten them to be fair. They should have smashed us.

Don't get the Stambouli and Soldado subbings. Ade can barely be bothered with a North Lodon Derby, let alone a Europa match.

Chiriches had an absolute nightmare. Loris superb, Stambouli, Kane, Bentaleb and Townsend all decent (ish)

Slightly worried that Davies looks bang average.
Townsend was ineffectual

What about if he's playing in a crap team?

I'm pissed off but we have to be realistic the 10 lads that came in tonight didn't play against arsenal for a reason.... We were outclassed tonight, didn't deserve to win the game and hopefully shows a few of these boys they need to improve to get anywhere near the proper team.

BECAUSE HE NEEDS TO BE GIVEN THE FUCKING BALL IN THE BOX.

Just look at the way we play. We rarely get the ball in the box.

Especially when you have Townsend shooting 20 times a game.

But when Kane had 3 (or 4?) attempts at goal from inside the box, plus scored the goal you do have to question what is actually happening here. I don't think Soldado had a shot or even looked close to having one.

And tbh this is kind of a regular occurrence the second half of last season and now this. Kane, for good or bad, seems to get in positions and have chances to score. Soldado, whilst doing ok outside the box, just doesn't seem to ever look like getting in these positions. It just isn't happening for some reason. I don't think its all because the other players aren't on his wave length, its not all on him the individual. He just doesn't seem capable of doing 'a bit of everything' as a lone striker.

No-he made some good saves tonight but I am getting fed up with him passing to the opposition and not being able to boot the ball into their half. He has never got near to a single penalty in his time at Spurs.

Are you for real?

He saves us time and time again and your pissed because he's not the best reader of spot kicks, its not an issue, i would rather that than he be shit at 1 on 1's, seriously 442 you need to think about this a bit and get back to us with a better conclusion.

Kane's goal was possible because their defence was pulled away for a moment and by the time they had recovered it was too late. Soldado did that.

I just cannot believe what i am reading, we would have lost tonight and in so many games since Lloris joined us if not for him, he's our ONLY world class player. Just how many penalties will he face in a season?? A handful i can live with him not getting anywhere near them, i can accept your criticism of his kicking though, just.

We have defenders with excellent attacking instincts and strikers who play really well in the middle of the pitch.
