Bullied off by the centre backs...?

Does bullied include harassing their player back to their corner?

Oh and not really being passed too... I mean it really is hard to get bullied off the ball when no one is passing the ball forwards at all.

Anyway, it is clear you are not watching the game... Not wasting my time.
It's clear you're watching the game through some weird optical twilight zone, where you think that was a centre forward's performance good enough for Spurs. It's a strange world.

Did you watch the game?
I'm being serious here.
The thing is, if you're looking for the bad in a player you will always see it, irrespective of any good that goes with it.

Some are at that point with quite a lot of our players.

BECAUSE HE NEEDS TO BE GIVEN THE FUCKING BALL IN THE BOX.

Just look at the way we play. We rarely get the ball in the box.

Especially when you have Townsend shooting 20 times a game.
DISAGREE. HE NEEDS TO DO MORE THAN JUST HOVER ROUND HOPING FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN. THAT"S WHAT GOOD STRIKERS DO.

Well if you're playing against a team that hasn't played midweek they have a distinct advantage from not playing. CL teams will choose their reserves if they think they can get away with it but at that level it's a struggle. We'll get through this group with this 11 and that's all that matters.

Besides if we're not willing to use the squad in games like this, what's the point in having one? You can't expect players to slot in for injuries if they've not had a kick in a competitive match for 3 months.

By all means rotate the squad. Mix in 3 or 4 players from the group. But change the entire team against the best team in the group ?? At home where there are no exhausting flights to think about ? And yet people expected us to win ?? How can we get any continuity among players who are still getting to know each other ? Sorry mate but that selection shows Poch didn't give a toss about the Europa. Understandably he wants to do well against his former club at all costs. Understandably but you can't have it all ways.

The fancy flicks are all very well, but Soldado's a striker and I want to see him score goals. He doesn't do that.
Heres something to ponder, when he plays with lamela (who is on his wave length) he scores every 94 min.
Give him a run with lamela, Chadli and Erickson I bet he scores.

At least we're beginning to learn who we can cut loose.

Adebayor, Chiriches, Lennon, Paulinho. Wouldn't miss them.

Soldado, Townsend and Dembele also need to show more.

beginning to learn? Only Chiriches taught me something tonight, the rest (Paul being the best of the bunch) could have been cut way before for me

I'm pissed off but we have to be realistic the 10 lads that came in tonight didn't play against arsenal for a reason.... We were outclassed tonight, didn't deserve to win the game and hopefully shows a few of these boys they need to improve to get anywhere near the proper team.
We either want to win (or at least progress) in this tournament or we don't. If we do then we should field the strongest side and make an effort to win at home.

I've said this before, but players managed to play in the league, two domestic cup competitions AND in europe not so long back, and they weren't playing with a squad, only a couple of subs that only came on if someone was injured. They just had to fucking man up and get on with it.

Sorry to sound a wee negative here but possibly with the exception of verts instead of vlad would our so called first eleven have made that much difference .

I honestly think Soldado has the best control we've seen at the club since Berbatov. Played with the right people behind him he will shine.

I certainly think he's got a good footballing brain on him, better than Ade's who seems to rely on his physical attributes to succeed. He has a good first touch, and an eye for a clever pass or a crafty flick-on, but I'm not sure if his control is anything extraordinary. Berbatov left me gobsmacked at times. He had a way of not only pulling off the most audacious traps when receiving the ball, but taking the ball away from his man in one fell swoop too.

Nonetheless, Soldado does have a good touch. It's better than most on our team and he makes for a better link up man than Ade, who often has a heavy touch coupled with a tendency to hold on to the ball for too long. He's starting to play at a faster pace, looking to move that ball and bring in players around him. He may not bag 20+ goals a season, but if he could be part of a productive front 4 that all contribute with goals/assists.

Vlad had a stinker, but we've one win in last seven and that was home game at LC against reserve team of lower level side. If I felt like throwing stones, I'd pick another target.

The one encouraging thing from speaking to other spurs fans is that we seem to agree Poch had time and will need time to put this right. So many changes needed and system to be instilled. So many of our players just don't appear to have the skill or aptitude to adapt his style.
