Been told the club are close to being sold for around 4.5b.

As A&C has mentioned, been here before so nothing to get too excited about but the source is fairly confident. Can't mention who yet but it isn't stateside.

These things come and go from time to time but it's certainly interesting none the less.
Thats almost £20 per share based on the currently issued Share Capital of 229M shares.

Wonder if Levy is keeping his share and/or chairmanship. For good and for bad I assume Levy leaving would be the biggest impact for the club. If it’s just Joe’s big trust fund part going the change might be limited in terms of where we go from here.

Sorry but as much as Levy has his faults, the thought of being bought out terrifies me. Especially as we've seemingly finally got the right mix of people running things.
Without knowing who it is it's impossible to know if it will be a good thing or not. That being said I do agree to some degree as after many years of seemingly being lost in the wilderness we finally seem to have found our way. There is also the chance Levy stays on, it has been mentioned in the past that he wanted to keep his role in the event of a sale. I think at this point we just have to wait for more information, one would think that if something is advanced then it will start leaking in the press soon enough.

oh come onnnnnnnn

After the shitshow of the past few years, we've finally had a good six months. Surely that's enough for you to join the resurgent bastard sons, be dusting off the old birth certificate, offering him a reacharound, a statue outside the ground and the offer of free use of your significant other?

Fairs fair :cautious:

It was said at the time of the Joe Lewis charges that a sale of the club is more likely than ever which absolutely makes sense. This may have focused his / his families minds that now is a good time to sell the prized asset and get estate planning finalised. The timing of the change in trust ownership which removed Joe Lewis was around same time as the investigations into him were nearly concluded. It's not a huge stretch to think that potentially they are even linked. If the sale of Spurs went through then it would help shield spurs from any claims that the change in trust ownership was to put Spurs beyond any claims of putting assets out of reach of creditors/ court.

Interesting one to keep an eye on

Would the £4.5 billion valuation include the properties around the stadium including Lilywhite house and the site of the new hotel?

We have got to be the most fickle fan base in the World.

Only at Spurs in 8 months could we go from being happy if Vlady babes himself took us over to never wanting Levy to leave

Its still too soon with Levy for me, been here before and he always manages to stooge it up. That being said I am probably just about in the Better the Devil You Know camp, the hit rate on these mega $ owners has been pretty poor if you look past Sheikh whatshisface and Roman

If it's somebody coming in and merely taking over ownership, effectively replacing Joe Lewis and staying in the background while the current people continue to run things, then I'd welcome it. If it's the likes of Boehly or another billionaire who just wants a new play thing and to get involved then they can kindly jog on.
