Its more the style.

I think if there was one thing we learn between 2019-2023 was that you actually want to enjoy what you're seeing.

Under Vieira they had that again but as is such things, the wheels started to fall off. They should never have gave it to Roy full time. They are absolutely horrible to watch. There is more to football than surviving.

Depends if their fans want to watch them in the Championship or Premier League really.

Look at Burnley.

The technical requirements alone to play great football at the top level requires a level of investment the smaller clubs can't sustain.

People are using Brighton as an example, but they're enjoying a purple patch of talent coming through from smart scouting, but every well runs dry eventually.

Sometimes you have to suffer to reap the rewards.

I dont think Burnley fans are too despondent from where they were when Dyche was working miracles and Mike Jackson come in.

Leeds look more united under Farke.

Southampton were playing aeful stuff at times under hassenhuttl and jones. Now absolutely buzzing with Russell Martin.

Leicester fans grew tired of Rodgers style. Now wnjoying Maresca.

Sometimes it may mean dropping a division to then re-invent the club and its style.

We won't sell for less than 6bn imo. The club is all set now to bring in money for many years to come. We're arguably the best club to buy in this moment in time. Not even sure why the mention of Lewis when he cut ties years ago.

ENIC in which Levy has a stake are Bahamas registered not sure he will pay much tax in the UK if we are sold. Says he will listen to bids but not sure he or the Lewis family want to sell, still got hotel etc to build.
Whilst I am not an accountant I have had quite a bit of exposure to this stuff. A British citizen or tax resident, such as Daniel is generally required to pay CGT on the sale of any asset globally regardless of where the asset is registered.

Levy’s tax residency while not entirely clear he is, in the eyes of HMRC most likely to be considered a U.K. Tax Resident for myriad reasons and therefore expected and required to pay CGT on any global gains.

If it were the case that I could base my business over there and be insulated from HMRC my business would be registered in the Bahamas not on Bishopsgate.

You don’t make money buying a freshly renovated house at a premium price. You do it by buying one run down and fixing it up. There’s no value in Spurs at £6bn. Yes, we make money, but how many years till the investors see returns?

Levy doesn't own his share of the club personally, as per the clubs website:

"Mr D Levy and certain members of his family are potential beneficiaries of discretionary trusts which ultimately own 29.88% of the share capital of ENIC." (https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/the-club/investor-relations/shareholder-information/)

As such, any tax liability is heavily reduced or even potentially not applicable

Imagine Levy selling up when after nearly 15 years it seems that the football world is FINALLY ready to take FFP seriously and restrict clubs' spending, the new stadium has been built, and our revenues are now up there with some of the biggest in world football - Levy's been waiting for this time his entire career as chairman - there's no way he'd contemplate selling up now.

Big investment from an outside source with ENIC retaining ownership? A possibility, but remote. Levy's going nowhere either way.

Exactly. I can't imagine him going anywhere for another 10 years at least.

As much as Levy has his faults, he's getting it right at the moment and the idea of a foreign owner terrifies me when I see what's going on at Chelsea. The club is on the right track at the moment, no need for any big changes and I'd imagine Levy is enjoying it for the first time in a long time too.

Finally at the point where Levy is taking advantage of the finances. Seems as though his persistence in playing by the rules is paying off at long last. You really think he'll leave now? And to be honest if it was to continue in this manner I would happily keep him.

ENIC are registered in the UK.

If you look at the last published accounts, ENIC Group is a dormant company and is no longer the company that controls Spurs.
If you search on companies house and look up the last accounts for Tottenham Hotspur Ltd, on page 40 you will find that the current parent company of Spurs is ENIC Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd and the immediate controlling party is ENIC Sports Inc all registered and incorporated in the Bahamas.
There are several companies under the Tottenham Hotspur name but ultimately they all say the same thing about ultimate parent company.

Spurs as a company pay tax in the UK but if sold then ENIC in the Bahamas will benefit and it's all tied up in family trusts of Levy & Lewis , all too complicated for me.

PS There are still something like 30000 private share holders in Spurs , I believe Levy once confirmed that number, who hold about 12% of the shares so they will also get a payout if Levy/ENIC did sell up.
