We should not underestimate how fucked we are. We are lacking in every single part of the pitch. Our GK of the last 10 years is finished, and a good replacement will likely cost a lot, and we will get little to nothing for Hugo in return. We need a new RWB, we pretty much have one good CB, two at most, and we need six solid CBs in a system with a back 3. At LWB we have to hope Udogie is the real deal. We are still far too reliant on Bentancur, with a general lack of any midfield creativity. Son may very well be finished as well (whilst Lucas definitely is), and our best player has just under 18 months left on his contract with no reason to re-sign.

We may be in a position where we're ever nowhere near CL for a long time or need to sign at least 10 players of quality. No fucking chance of the latter under ENIC, so the former is far more likely.
Good post, problem with our ‘project’ has always been we’re always playing catch up, by the time we finally sort the defence (if ever) the attack will need reconstructed. All very well having these grand plans (not that we have any) but time never stands still, you need to focus on the needs now which have came and gone again, and again, and again…. and another boat this time with Conte has been missed, always coming up short, and still paying for the self imposed transfer exile of 18.
I could get on board with a real ‘plan’ but only if it didn’t involve ENIC and Levy, they have shown over and over the plan is to buy time whilst their investment grows, there is no ambition to win, anyone that still believes otherwise is bordering on delusional.
i don’t trust them at all, just think about the manager speech Levy gave then got Nuno, not sure how he keeps a straight face, anyone that trusts these shisters anymore to turn us in winners, shame on you, but I don’t fee sorry for you anymore as you are now part of the problem assisting these guys with their ‘glorie$’…

Would we be any worse under QSI, many say they dont want to be owned by someone who has an horrendous record where human rights are concerned, but sure Levy has been abusing the human rights of spurs fans for 20+ yrs and even managed to convince some that it is what they need, think its called Stockholm syndrome?

Maybe they realise this so want to dispose of the club now?

If Conte isn't given the significant transfer funds to assemble a squad to execute his system, he's gone. As is Kane, Son and Hugo (I know).

I highly doubt Enic (specifically JL) want to heavily invest on the pitch as the off the pitch (stadium sponsorship) is still proving a PR juggernaut.

Solution? JL sells some of his stake for profit, DL keeps his job and buys himself another two years and Conte is giving a partial kitty to keep the fans temporarily at bay..... ultimately in walks Poch for the cheaper rebuild for maximum ROI for Enic and JL.

The fans continue to suffer.

Rinse and repeat

First post in this thread. Full disclosure, I voted NO but putting that in context, despite following Spurs since 1990, I just don’t like the modern iteration of football and I don’t like PL clubs being owned by literal countries and owners that stole their money from countries national resources. Even without those type of owners, what Chelsea are spending right now is disgusting. Will always love Spurs but for a long time have felt myself drifting away from football.

I really don’t begrudge anyone their opinion though because one thing is for sure .. we CANT compete under these owners when an increasing amount of clubs such as Newcastle are being taken over and will and can spend vast vast sums.

Even the top clubs that don’t have that type of owner, outspend us massively.

In a simplified form Lewis/Boehly/Henry all have very similar net worths of around 4-5Bn. Kroenke 12Bn. Yet we won’t ever spend as much as them or push the boat out to ‘go for it’

fans seem to bunch into three groups

1. Fully up for takeover, show me the money, don’t care where it’s from, I’m fully in

2. Fuck a takeover that involves sportswashing/dodgy money, I’d rather remain with current owners even if it means we never compete

3. A complex melange of not liking current owners but confused about how they would feel and react to the most likely new owners

Im probably veering into 3 where I just don’t know how I feel, but being someone that has always been measured and patient I’m pretty much done with ENIC/Levy after seeing how things have gone under Conte

They will buy Liverpool. A club with a rich history and trophies in its recent history for a decent price (actual value)

levy will want so much it will price us out, blah blah London, blah blah new stadium.

we will stand by as off in to the sun runs the competition, laden with trophies and glory.

some of us will support this club their whole lives then die whilst seeing us win nothing (levy understands return on investment).

what a mess we are ?
No, they will not.

Yeah I’ve been waiting for journalists across the country to pick up and run with the story like they did here when Jacobs reported on us last weekend. Within 24 hours we had Gold, Kirkpatrick etc back up the claims of a meeting but there’s been nothing to suggest here that the Liverpool/qatar story is true. Hope I haven’t given it the kiss of death now though!

The CEO of QIA today gave an interview to Bloomberg about their overall investment strategy. He said that specifically they are looking for assets/investments in the technology sector due to opportunities that are currently available. At the end of the interview he was asked about a possible investment in the Premier League with Man U and ourselves specifically named by the interviewer. Although his response was generally non committal about any specific club it was fairly obvious that this is definitely something they are looking at currently.

If levy had 400m he would rather build hotels with that money knowing he will make money on them then risk spending it on players for glory

Ill ask a question - does anyone ever think that with new owners, we could potentially go the way of Everton? I mean thats actually my worst fear. Everton are a huge club but theyre in a state. We could very easily go the way they have. They had new owners. They splurged massively. Look where they are now.

There's more accountability for Levy than Moshiri within the respective club's structure.

It’s possible but unlikely imo.

Its the risk you run. But again theyve had non-football people in charge and actually when they had a footballing man in Brands as DoF, many of the signings were actually decent or got some income back.

Richarlison, Digne, Zouma, Iwobi (been their best player), James Rodriguez, Mina (best defender when fit), Allan.

Everton like us, had no philosophy. From Big Sam to Silva to Koeman to Ancelotti etc it was all over the place they didnt know what they were.

If Levy is nowhere near it and a footballing man is, we have the foundations now to really crack on. Everton didnt.
