It won't be passed to her.

The shares in ENIC are held by a family trust. That trust will survive Lewis' death, and is used for estate planning purposes.

No member of the public can know that. It is held in a discretionary trust of which certain members of the Lewis family are potential beneficiaries. That is all the public information there is.

So it’s a big no to Liberty Media, a big no to any Arab/oil money, and a big no to the richest man in the world.
Do people really think some philanthropic, morally sound, knight in shining armour is going to swoop down and bankroll us with his/her honestly accumulated wealth?

These are the only types of people that can afford to buy a club of our size.
We’re either stuck with Enic or dancing with the devil, and I hope we’re soon all cutting a rug with the red fella.

A big no thanks to liberty media and their asset stripping
I don't know a lot about them. Can you elaborate regarding the asset stripping part? Can't really find anything out there that indicates that's their prevailing reputation when it comes to investment. Assuming you know something else?

That map is well out of date and doesn't include the old Sainsbury's site. I pulled the attached from Land Registry a couple of year's ago. It lists the properties owned by Bahamas based TH Property Ltd.

As far as I'm aware the only properties still sitting within the club ownership (Tottenham Hotspur Ltd) are the unbuilt Hotel, Extreme Sports Centre & Apartments, south of the stadium.
I’m sure I read on here that ENIC purchased the land / properties from the club at the market rate during the stadium build to help the initial funding.

Correct they did and it’s now worth a lot more through planning gain.

They have already sold off some of the ownership.

So LM reorganised their holdings and the Atlanta Braves were spun off into their own entity; Atlanta Braves Holdings Inc. Which is still owned by....?

Very interesting...

LM created a holding company with The Atlanta Braves - Baseball team and The Battery - the real estate around the baseball ground. Sound familiar to anyone?

..and the shares in these companies tradable on The Nasdaq. It's as if they know what they're doing!!

ENIC have already split off most of the property into a Bahamas based entity. That’s not a club asset now so wouldn’t be asset stripping.

Sounds like Liberty will put us in bondage.
I'd rather hope for other investors.
A little S&M, handcuffs, bondage and ban sticks have never hurt anyone?

That A&C hasn’t disagreed to this post, is proof that he doesn’t read every single word on here.

People have short memories...

City group raised 470m debt a year or so back, unconnected to club
Chelsea new owners raised 800m in debt when they took over, again without burdening the club

Rules around leveraged buy outs have tightened up a lot in PL - United style takeover isnt possible.

Liberty media is also NASDAQ listed company - they will put the investors first in these kind of things.

Situation has changed a lot in credit markets - with hike in interest rates , money isnt easy to raise. At the same time, look at stock market ,which is still booming inspite of economy being in deep trouble.

If a takeover happens in this macro environment, its more likely to be a majority cash investment, (where investors divert their cash from public markets) than with a high yield debt.

Admittedly, I was struggling to understand the 'asset stripping' reference. I just couldn't find it. Perhaps the poster knows something we don't about them. 🤷‍♂️
I think people are nervous about investors in general.

Liberty - as an investment company, is probably as good as we can get. They understand sports. They are not simply investors - they want a PL team.

For me, worst case scenario - they dream up new ways to generate revenue from fans, but still put money back into the team.

If you look at what they have done at F1 - they have grown the sport - but they have also looked at new revenue streams. The Miami GP, and soon-to-be Las Vegas Grand Prix are like printing money. And, they have gotten other GPs to start thinking of the supporter experience - and offering more entertainment value (and soon to be higher ticket prices.)

Lol. You’ve nailed it. People want Cliff Richards with bottomless pockets of cash.
