How fucking fast do Chelsea move these days man?! Never quite sure how good the business is, to be honest, but they get shit done when they need it - even if they then need to do it all again the next season...

Yes, and they've lost an absolute shit ton of money doing it too.

Not fussed if we don’t get him. I can’t say he’s ever stood out for me at all, in fact Ream has always been the standout CB for Fulham when I’ve seen them play.

This always smacked of a low cost home grown option rather than a youngster with real promise.

Our window really should be ending Kane out, Tapsoba, Van De Ven, Kolo-Muani and a CM in and whatever outs we are able to make. I don't give a damn what anyone says, that's what a club our size and stature should be getting over the line. Penny pinching is crippling our fantastic work done before. It's death by a thousand cuts and Levy knows it but refuses to see it due to his bottom line pride

We've lost ground to all our "rivals" this window and they were already ahead of us.

It's a new era and by refusing to play the game we are going to fall further and further behind. For the longest time I had faith in the ENIC project but it is becoming increasingly clear that if we want to win things consistently we need to play the same game as the top teams i.e. external funding of transfers.

Don't disagree with the sentiment but the thought process ignores that it leaves Maddison and Skipp potentially as the only home grown options long term. We need immediate improvement but I think a HG option instead of Van de Ven might be necessary as well as a HG option (ie Scott) at CM. Otherwise we are counting on way more outs than I think is feasible at this point.

In short I don't think it's penny pinching that is crippling us, but a completely rudderless squad building approach. One window we are searching for physical counter attackers, the next specialty wing backs, who knows in 6 months. We ignore the academy until we have dug a giant hole. We buy what is expedient rather than needed, even if we have to spend to do so.

More than anything I hope the Ange appointment is the adoption of an approach that will last beyond his time that can provide continuity and direction.

as the 2nd incoming Cb along with Tapsoba this works just fine.

Hopefully this is the “no Kane sale” plan.

While I think Tapsoba is a must, Tosin as a homegrown squad option makes perfect sense to me. Especially if we can get him in before the start of the season so we don't have to play Davies at CB vs Brentford.

I actually think he could well make more sense as a 3rd choice CB than VdV since Tosin is homegrown, can cover both LCB, RCB and knows the league.

VdV is young, raw, doesn't know the league and need regular minutes to develop - if he gets stuck on the bench behind Tapsoba he could well fester and lose confidence. Tosin on the other hand has 2 PL seasons under his belt and would have no problem slotting straight in and covering on either side.

Doesn't fancy a move to us supposedly

Great, I'd much rather our club go for genuine first team competition than a player who is targeted due to his contractual situation.

Maddison and Solomon have been signed due to their contractual issues, Solomon for sure I don't want our club to get into a nasty cheap habit of doing so above quality

I'd be surprised if that was true, my contact at Fulham as previously posted told me that his preference is the PL but that he could well go abroad based on certain interest.

Could be due to lack of potential game time or just because we aren't actually in for him as it stands.
