🚨 EXCL: ⚫️⚪️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇳🇬 #PL |

◉ The Tosin Adarabioyo deal in Monaco is almost dead ‼️

◉ Fulham has not responded to ASM for several days. The Cottagers prefer to sell him to Tottenham but the player only wants Monaco.

◉ Adarabioyo should go free in a year.

With @sebnonda

(Romano amongst others has name checked this guy a few times this window as having correct info)

Whilst I think Schuurs would be the more exciting move bringing in a HG defender would be pretty helpful and potentially free up a non hg spot further up the pitch. Would probably be a cheaper deal to. Big question if he might change his mind about coming tho.

I really hope we don't chase people who really don't want to come here. Just look at the Conte situation. Didn't he turn us down a few times before he actually joined? Look how that turned out.

I always see pace being mentioned. I get this is an important factor due to our system. But I think it is also very important that a new defender is dominant at set pieces. Feels like we concede lots of easy goals from them because our defenders don't have the timing to jump when needed or they lose their opponent players.

Do we know if Tosin is a good presence there?

And if he does not want to come, whats the point anyway...

I assume Fulham's preference for Spurs is probably because of one of our players going the other way

Dier was mentioned a few days ago no? Kind of odd tho as surely we’d probably sell him for the low. Could just sell Tosin to Monaco then buy Dier. Ether way Tosin seems determined not to come here I’m assuming because he knows he won’t be a starter.

Ange has been pretty clear that the players must want to be here. So unless this talk of him not being interested is just speculation from the Monaco side of things, we should probably move on.

If he’s happy to come though I wonder if we could do some kind of deal involving Dier. Rumour is he doesn’t want to leave and wants to move on a free next summer. But maybe a loan to Fulham would suit, he’s off the wage bill then, and he still keeps his options open next year.

If he really wants to go there, he can just sit it out and Fulham will be bound to accept Monaco's offer before the deadline

Thing is, if he didn’t want to come at all surely we would have walked away from this a while ago. I really struggle to see us pushing for a player that doesn’t particularly want to come.

Emerson didn't want to come either and he's been a total pro since arriving.

Has there been any other source that has said specifically that he doesn't want to come to Spurs? Cause this is a french source right, so may be slightly biased in how it reports it, like Plettengoal and his "Kane only wants Bayern" angle when it was far more nuanced than that.
Monaco is probably his first choice, but find it unlikely he would definitely not want to join us

As said the other day, Gift Orban listed clubs he would want to join and named three prem clubs that weren’t us. Everyone is ignoring it though, because they want/rate the player. Seems like most aren’t that keen on Tosin so can’t wait to find a reason not to sign the fella.
He might prefer Monaco (and being a starter, which people usually praise) but I imagine it’s a lot more complicated than ‘say no to everyone else’. That seems the French media angle. Would hope we would’t be chasing a genuine dead end and imagine he’d be absolutely on board if he signs. After all, if he really doesn’t want us, he can run his contract down and have his pick whilst making more money.

I don't disagree but there is a difference between being really interested in another club and being totally uninterested in joining Spurs. Maybe Monaco have been wanting him for a long time and he appreciates them for that. He's only ever played in England and might want a foreign move to grow as a player and person?

If we have genuine interest we'd probably try and set up a phone call with Ange similar to Maddison and if he is not convinced after that then that's the point we leave the deal.

Doesn’t take much for the media to turn “preference to go to Monaco” into “only wants to go to Monaco”.

And I doubt anyone could say that’s not a perfectly reasonable position for him to take; we all know he’s not a starter if he comes to us.

doesn’t mean if he does end up with us it’s under great sufferance and hopefully he appreciates it’s a squad game and if he performs there will be a chance. VDV is young and might fluctuate in form and that’s before injuries and suspensions are even considered

True. However there have since been posts suggesting he is happy to come here.

Agree, this is how i see it. You can prefer one club over another but be professional enough to happily accept a move to the 'other' club should your preferred move fall through - it's not like he's come out in the press and said he doesn't want to move to us, all he's ever said is that he wants to leave Fulham to play more regularly (and Monaco offered him that).

Funnily enough my dad (a Fulham fan) is of the opinion that Diop , the right sided CB currently occupying the starting spot at Fulham, had a bad pre season and he was then at fault for the opening goal against Brentford at the weekend. My dad reckons Tosin would be back in the team now , but for reasons unspecified (no mention of injury) he wasn't even in their matchday squad.

it's been a weird transfer saga this one because neither me, from a Spurs pov, or my dad from a Fulham pov, has seen a figure quoted for the sale of Tosin - we've seen a price of around £12-£15m guessed at by Alisdair Gold, and there definitely were two bids from Monaco quoted at 4m euros then 8m euros but no figure was then given regarding what Fulham actually expected. Personally i suspect they'd want all of £15m for him and probably even more tbh, i don't see why he'd be especially cheap in todays market even if he's only got 1 yr left on his contract. Btw Fulham are very short on numbers as well, so they really do not want to lose any more players, they are desperate for reinforcements.

Hey mate, I gave ITK on this earlier in the window from a guy I know at Fulham (same one when I gave ITK years back saying we were going to sign R.Sessengon).

My contact told me that Tosin is happy to move abroad or PL, his preference is abroad indeed however PL offers more wages, the issue mainly for us is playing time, he's not getting played as much as he wants at Fulham so if it will be the same situation with us I don't think he will be that interested but ofc I'm sure he and his team will be weighing everything up and all of the different offers available.

As the article says he only has a year left so Fulham are keen to sell him as doesn't look like he will sign an extension.

Also he has a bit of an ego apparently, not Spence or Ndombele levels of ego or bad attitude but he does think a lot of himself (not always a bad thing) and so believes he should be starting for a big club.

I suppose with only a week to go if the Monaco deal is collapsing and we are interested he might well consider it given he can stay living in London, higher wages and move to a bigger club (assuming the other offers in Europe and abroad aren't as attractive even with him being guaranteed more minutes)

I think the hg spot will be Brennan Johnson unless we go for 2.
