I've always been a fan and was über excited with the hype when we first signed him but was disappointed with him when he didn't immediately become a midfield maestro and lynchpin for Spurs.

Typical Spurs fan I am - I want it all now and am not willing to wait.

A few years of Thudd disappointment and flits of first team action, changes in management later we come to today and this season. He's overlooked when Jenas and Palacios are fit but oh my, he's been absolutely superb when he's played alongside either

The last 10 games or so of this season have featured him occasionally, but he has been immense. His passing and attacking play as well as his ability to dictate the midfield have come along in leaps and bounds.

He WILL improve and WILL get better - he'll become one of the country's best CM's if nurtured properly.

I'll be gutted if/when he leaves but really hope he stays and is given the right coaching to become an awesome midfielder.

Had an extremely good first half today, but like the whole team, looked poor in the second. I for one hope he's still with us next season.

he is way, way slow. his technical ability is unmatched, but physically he still needs alot of improvement.

He needs to put the foot in ala Palacious more. He was good today. Very strong first half. Quieter second half. Definitely hope he has a future at the club

poor technique? i dont think so- he is one of the cleanest stikers of the ball in the premiership. Poor passing? did you see his assist today? plus that ball to keane? he is spurs best passer! selfish? how? he only had one shot today and made lots of passes, i cant see how he is selfish- a winger or a striker can be selfish but a cm?

I actually had to read that 3 times to believe it.

He was class ever since he was 15/16, and obviously massive as well, so probably never had to impose himself, but he's learnt, he was quiet against Everton, but at the lane he is awesome. Class today, also made quite a few good challenges, ones which he maybe used to attempt and get sent off for, but was sweeping the ball away.

I really hope he stays, he is a top player technically, and his athleticism has been better this season.

In the first half today he was the fulcrum of everything we did and reminded me of how Carrick used to play for us. He even steamrollered up the line and dinked a ball into Keane which Keane should have done better with. Also did a peach of pass into Defoe for the first goal. Second half though.....he was missing tackles and passes and was being left behind as City surged through us but he came back into it again towards the end a few times by playing it out of defence rather than just hoofing it forward. I'd like him to stay for his vision and passing alone.

We need to keep him.

His attacking play is beyond question. He's almost always our most creative player. What he needs to improve is his reading of the game when the opposition have the ball, so he can be in the right place defensively. It'll come with experience, and in a few years he'll be immense.

He hardly took control of the game and put in his usual typical defensive shift.
