Just got home after staying for the duration and singing my heart out until the very last whistle.

Those that left out of frustration or disgust - do you honestly believe that you were hurting more than those of us who stayed?

Players, managers and even chairman come and go, supporters are there for life, unless of course with twenty minutes to go you just can't be fucked anymore.

And those that booed at half time, I do wish you'd either fucking shut up or fuck off to Chelsea.

Nothing personal against anyone on here, but booing an 18 kid for making a mistake is a disgrace.

When us fans are on our game we can't half make a difference. Sadly a hell of a lot decided it wasn't worth it today.

Booing our own players as well as leaving when we still had enough time to pull something back shows a lack of support to me. Never will i ever boo my own team and never would i give up on them until that whistle blows.

Did those who left not remember the last 15 mins on sat? Its never over until the fat lady sings in my opinion. I'm sure thats why so many of the players just gave up. Why wouldn't they when they see half the stadium fucking off.

I don't get why fans care if other fans leave early. It's their right to do it. Their money, their way of saying to the players "not good enough".

Exactly. We're called supporters for a reason you know. I just wish some people realised that.

It was, but it could have been cold if you were watching it on TV, so dont blow my cover! :bang:
Nah, keep it going. Tell us how you had walk 200 miles each way barefoot. So poor you couldn't afford potatoes. You had to eat the eyes instead.

This is the 2nd time I left early in my 10 years as a season ticket holder, and 1st time by choice.

This was a crappy tie to have that we didn't really want, and was lose lose. We win, and we have extra games to worry about, (and don't say that other CL times don't do the same and put out losing sides bar maybe mega rich Chelsea), or we lose... and obviously that sucks because we lose to the scum.

I left as the 4th goal went in. It's a worknight ffs, a bad tie to have in a very congested schedule, (I'm more worried about Lennon and Disco playing as long as they did than the actual score!), a glorified reserve game, (speaking of which, how many of you can say what our last reserve game scoreline was off the top of your head, or how many of you can say you have even been to one between spurs and arsenal?), and we had just gone 4 1 down, and the players weren't interested anymore.

I usually hate fans going home early to beat traffic etc, but on this particular occasion, for many reasons, I decided for the first time in my 10 years to go early. Give me a break!

I left with 3 mins of extra time left because I have a two hour journey home and I didn't want to be near any gloating gooners. I don't feel the least bit ashamed by it.

What was shameful was the half time booing that seems to be becoming common place. They're kids, they needed encouragement, especially so at half time with it all to play for in the second half.

this i agree with. Can't stand the fairweather fans who boo based on the current scoreline alone.

I'm sorry but are people who didn't go to the match judging those that did? I guess taking off fifteen minutes to masturbate to weird porn isn't as horrible as leaving at 4-1.

shit shit point. you have no idea why people aren't there. personally i feel i have a duty to support the side properly whenever i go. i don't buy the crap that having paid for a ticket releases me of that, or that it;s just like going to the cinema. i feel that duty to all the fans who are not there, probably more than to the players. but more than that i don't want to leave early, or not give support when things aren't going well. and i don't want to hand that little victory over to the opposing fans

we always sing when opposition fans flood out early if they're losing. i don't what people are thinking if they sing then and then leave early when we're losing. just more fucking mindless hypocrisy. i try to look them in the eye when they're sneaking out and try to convey the fact that i feel superior to them. which i do.

the other thing is the fucking idiots who berate our fans clapping off our players after we lose. "what are you cheering those wankers for?" idiots.

not all aimed at you Pivot! you just got my started with that shit post of yours

oh jesus! is this what i've got to look forward to? i might be moving back to Ldn, then i'll be seeing more home games. the last few years i've been in Mcr and get to more than 10 games a year but mostly away games, where this sort of thing doesn't happen and our support is great usually whatever the score. i'm always a bit disappointed with our fans when i go to the Lane but just for being quiet not booing

I was at the Wolves game, going to FC Twente and would have gone tonight but for the fact that I'm working. But what has that got to do with anything I've just said? Oh yeah, nothing.

If you didn't make the effort to get to the game then I politely suggest you reserve judgement about the actions of those who did and yes I was one of them. I went to Berne, Bremen and if I get tickets will be going to Milan and Twente, so I don't take kindly to being lectured by someone who didn't even have enough conviction to get to the game in the first place. But hey that's just me.

I stayed right to the end. The pair next to me left at the full time, I think they thought it was going to a replay! It was clear that most of the people left were the quiet sods that never actually join in with any chants, we made as much noise half-empty as we did when we were full.

That said, let's not be too harsh. It was extra time on a midweek game, people have to get home and probably get to work the next morning. If they had left just before FT then I'd agree, but at 3 or 4-1 there wasn't much going for us. The ref was crap all night, some awful decisions, I can see why people lost hope.

Still 20 mins until i get home! Stayed to the end.

the singing at the end. In some way took the edge off the defeat. Not a lot but a little. Lot of respect to those that stayed.

When I pay over 50 quid for a ticket i'll decide when I want to go home thank you very much. Don't start judging other people based on when they leave the game.

Did I leave early tonight? Yes, when Arsenal went 4-1 up with 10 minutes to play. Tonights performance from us was quite frankly absolute shite and i'd decided i'd had enough of watching it. The body language through most of the game and especially extra time suggested to me that the players had given up hope of getting a result, the fourth goal pretty much summed it up when Arshavin was allowed to just have a shot at goal.

Does that make me a bad supporter? No, fuck off. I go to every game I can at WHL and stick with the team through thick and thin like everyone else here. Does leaving 10 minutes early, on a Tuesday night, in the 120th minute of the match when we're 4-1 down in a competition that is, quite honestly, the last priority for us this season mean i'm a shit supporter? I don't think so. I'll be at the next game at WHL, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that...

Well if players making mistakes and playing shit makes them bad players on the night, then leaving early (if it's just because you're pissed off) makes you a bad supporter on the night. That's quite straight forward. By definition, a supporter should support, which some didn't do very well. But that's just my take on things. I was annoyed at the time but understood why people would want to leave early. Bundles were leaving after 3-1 though, don't they remember the Emirates a couple of years ago?

The singing at the end was immense and as mentioned, took the pain out of the defeat for me. Made me sort of proud again. The people still there seemed to be embarrassed at what was left in the stadium so wanted to make a point, which we very much did. We outsung arsenal for the last 10 minutes in a match we were losing 4-1 at home to our big rivals in. Amazing stuff and genuinely made me feel better going home.

But I don't really blame people for leaving. Not my style personally but it was late and people have to work. But I stand by my point that those who left just because we played shit weren't good supporters on the night. Maybe other days they're great, but not tonight.
