If I was there I probably would have left early such was the despair...

BUT...at times like this is when the fans HAVE to stay and sing loud.

It was a disgraceful night all round, really.

You don't get it do you? You never give up against Arsenal. When we went 3-1 down there were still 15mins to play, so what happens? Do we get behind the lads and lift them back up again knowing that we scored 2 in injury time a short while ago? No we all storm off in a huff and give the away fans the satisfaction of a job well done.

I went at 4-1. When Naughton turned his back on the ball and let them in.

I drive to each game, and it Takes me an hour and a half to get there and the same to get back again on a good day. Getting caught in the high road after the game doubles that. After the money I pay to go week in and week out, no one has the right to say 'shame on me' for leaving at a time that is pretty much dictated to me. Enjoy your sofa.

Fucking disgrace watching our performance.. A couple of players(Sandro, Keane, Livermore) at least gave their all but to let SCUM emberass us like that... We should have kicked some of them down at least..

Hang you heads in shame...

After all the tributes tonight for the legend that is Bobby Smith, someone who's never say die attitude epitomises this club, to see so many fans walk out so early is a real shame.

Fair play to those who've stayed.

I take it you went to the game and stayed to the very end, writing this post from your phone ?

I think the point is if your not going to see the game to its conclusion then why bother going in the first place? id of happily took your place and seen it through. Fair enough alot of people have trains to catch, lifts etc(it takes me the best part of 4 hours to get back on a matchday) but i didnt see any gooners leaving and im not so sure alot of people would have found it quite so difficult getting back had we gone 2-1 up.

Was i sat at home watching it? yes, Does that make me any less of a fan? no, Is anyone who leaves early any less of a fan? no, Are the majority of spurs fans fickle? yes.

I don't blame anyone for leaving early.

But the ones that remained did the club proud. Their singing at the end was superb.

My friend and I stayed until the bitter end. It was horrible seeing them lose so heavily and we both thought about leaving (busy work schedules etc) but we physically couldn't. I have never left a Spurs game early and I never could. I genuinely love them and I just couldn't turn my back on people I love so much, however dire the situation.

And the singing at the end made it doubly worth it and there was a feeling of "We're the proper supporters" so rather an inspiring end.

I don't have anything against those who left early and I'm sure they've all got their reasons, but I never could.

I was there, I stayed til the end, I don't really care if anyone left tbh. But I'm not sure why we should expect the team to try to fight their way back when they see the stadium emptying and all their support walking away.

I guess you could debate the difference between a 'fan' and a 'supporter' in this thread if you're semantically minded, but I'm not, and who gives a shit anyway? I might well have left early myself if I lived further away. Who knows.

I can see why people want to leave early if they are getting lifts etc... but never will i leave that stadium early no matter how badly we play. I love them through good and bad and even bloody awful. The players seeing so many fans leaving early would have just made them want to play even less than they looked like they wanted to in extra time.

I was at the Wolves game, going to FC Twente and would have gone tonight but for the fact that I'm working. But what has that got to do with anything I've just said? Oh yeah, nothing.

I was there to the end, as always, though I can understand why some might have left when that 4th goal went in. In a strange way, it brought the fans together. About 8 minutes from the end of extra time, the whole ground was singing as one, and it was a really touching moment, with the fans (effectively) telling the players we still loved them, and there was a real feeling of unity amongst the fans.
I had to smile at the Arsenal chant to the half empty stadium though..........."is this a fire drill?"

We were 4-1 down and had 15 minutes to score 3 goals whilst playing shit. SURE WE'RE GONNA STICK AROUND! If you didn't wanna hear those slag gooners giving it, you could turn down the volume on your TV, whereas i chose to fuck off and come home.

While i was walking out, you were probably switching the channels on your TV or popping off to make a cuppa in your central heated home. I on the other hand had to sit out in the freezing cold for 105 minutes and watch us get outplayed by our rivals and show as much fight as a mouse in a tank with an anaconda.

Not to mention the traffic i had to sit in cos there were about 10,000 smart fuckers before me who left at 3-1!

I didn't disrespect Bobby Smith today, i gave him a standing ovation and sang my heart out til the players decided they couldnt be bothered anymore. They should have done it for Bobby, so don't try and get us on a guilt trip. I bet you didnt even clap for him on your sofa...

Staying to the end was great. We out sang them for the last ten minutes with less than 10,000 Spurs fans in the ground. From Oh when the Spurs through We are Tottenham etc until eventually we sung shall we sing a song for you?
But then i don't understand leaving early. Support is of the most value when the team needs it.
