I feel bizarrely nostalgic for the days when transactions were conducted using shoeboxes stuffed with cash in dodgy motorway cafes and A-road laybys.....

ahhhh i believe they're called the harry redknapp years ;)

if i was to somewhat wrongly sum it up. From a finance/payment angle. we're ready to hit a button and send some money to a spanish account.

the information more relates to the idea of the movement to make a spanish transaction. Don't know the figure.
When did we move this money ahead of preparing to hit the button? Thursday/Friday or today (is it even possible on a Saturday?!)

I don't have contact with the club, i always stress to make that clear. My old role/job used to be, but not anymore. Obviously those guys who do are my old chums and we still talk a few times a week.

I will never say "done deal" or anything like that as i don't know. But if wheels behind the scenes start moving you'd assume there is some serious interest.

In the past i've put effort in explaining some of the mechanics, if you read Stoof's thread on Letters of Credit and Invoice discounting it will add context to where i come into place. Just as any "deal" for any business a preparation is in place. Whether it happens or not i haven't got the foggiest.

My information may not always turn out to happen, but i'm always here to answer questions and explain where we were. the transfer aspects are me adding 1+1 and posting my interpretations. That's where i cannot be 'right'. But when i have posted information on players we have not signed, i at least know there has been a lot of work in terms of offers or preparation etc.

We all know football, how many bids are actually successful and result in transfers?

as for your question, my thoughts, not fact, would make me think we're at the point that if an agreement is made, we can complete it soon. If it's not already been completed...etc etc...if it happens at all.

Cheers for the explanation Wiskah and made an interesting read.

Are we any further along than when you had info on Moutinho money etc?

I thought that was done to be honest. the amount of work that went into it. remember the finance aspect is like being kept in the cold about everything, then getting a phone call to do some work, then not hearing anything afterwards.

Shows how old I am but I know we paid for Martin Chivers (125,000 pounds I believe) by Credit Transfer via Barclays, or was it Midland, in Tottenham. Now you can do it instantly.

I did write A&C an explanation about this.

It's about large companies having multiple accounts under multiple legal entities. Aggregation is big business in finance due to the netting of accounts to pay interest etc on remaining balances. the aggregation of monies refers to the fact i'm told (sorry to not take ownership, but i'm told 100% this has happened) that Spurs have put a large amount in one account. the Bank UK then freezes that and, in theory, places that same amount in the Bank ESP in a shadow account. I think it's called a Nostro account. Essentially money showing up in a spanish bank account even though it's currently in the UK. Bank UK and Bank ESP in this case are the same bank, but have offices in UK and Spain.

If you google nostro and vostro? bank accounts, and read a bit about SWIFT messaging this will make it clear.

So in short may i inquire..........have we actually paid for the mother fucker?

I really have concerns that information about finances has just been posted straight onto Twitter

I really have concerns, that you have concerns about our finances being posted onto Twitter. Are you undergoing therapy per chance?

Im surprised we contemplate sending any funds before the contract with the player is signed and a medical completed, because if we have complications with those, we'd have to get that money back sharpish. From what I can gather here, we are someway off the player completing his medical and holding up the shirt so i dont anticipate the 'button' being pressed anytime soon ... unless im misunderstanding something here?

I personally find it very weird that we post all out ITK on twitter in any case. I appreciate the site wants to attract traffic and does this by posting Spurs ITK for others to see and make them think they want to join the site.

But, and this is a little but, it can make the site look a little silly when something doesn't transpire. Do other club forums post their ITK online like we do?? Actually labelling it ITK? I don't think so

then why are they in the read only? i can follow itk and make jokes but i never get put in the ro :(

ryan is definitely ITK. We all know how. The RO is not the "what is going to happen" forum. It's a "what I've heard" forum. Big difference.

Do you think - given that ryan himself admits openly and freely the limits of his contacts - that he would know exactly the moment we have inked a contract for a new player? Or is it more likely that he just hears good information that we are definitely interested and a deal is nearing completion?

The latter case is what's happening here imo, but - again - let's not pretend we're further down the line than we really are as that way madness lies.

What is apparent (given info from these three and latest from wishkah) is that we are *roughly* as close to signing Soldado as we were to getting Leandro (twice) , Moutinho and Villa. Possible closer. That is, genuinely, pretty bloody close. But it's not actually "done".

The 'd' word is the single most dangerous thing in this thread (including dildos - "the other d word"). And just like a dildo, I wouldn't bring it out unless I was damn sure it was appropriate to use it on the arseholes of everyone present.

So if we allow 5 working days for the funds to clear, we should have Soldado by next Friday? :sour:

Sorry this transaction has been denied. You have insufficient funds in your account. Please try again later.

you seem to be going off on a massive tangent. i'm not disputing whether they're itk or not, just that ryantegan's latest read only post says we've got soldado and grey fox's says levy's signed a striker. that's the same as saying it's done. maybe they should've worded it more like gards' post which says we're just close to getting him.

Judging by the list of players that haven't signed is Wishkah's finance ITK the kiss of death!?

I've got a question!

The club makes an offer, so it must know how much money is in all these seperate accounts in order to bring them all together. So if we take out £5m here, £100k there and total up to £30m or whatever the amount is, how the hell do we get each account to sign off on taking those amounts out? And what do these accounts do when not involved in making shit happen at the magic wand of Baldini?

I'm confused by this new information

If you notice, i have not posted anything in the RO myself since the days h was in charge. At that time I could say with a great deal of certainty, that what I was hearing was nailed on gospel truths as per Mr Redknapp himself.

During that time I built up a rapport with individuals through match day hospitality and social media also. I have a network of people now who keep me informed but you could most certainly call it 2nd hand information. I cant confirm or deny that they are hearing good info or if in fact they are telling me the truth, however I dont feel there is any harm in sharing.

I also use my QPR knowledge to "trade" with. Journos love all that ;)

Have a look back through the press snippets and see who banged the Remy to QPR drum. I got a nice 12\1 on that. Also the Scotty Parker deal right now. You'll see my sources then ;). Its up to you to decide whether you believe them

Hi wishkah

Thanks for all your info and attempting to make some of us dimwits understand the world of finance. I'm still trying to work out how midland bank could afford to give away all th black sports bags : /

Anyway quick question and I think I already know the answer. But do you have info regarding this so called injection of 50mil from JL.....I'm guessing not!

Cheers
