hey buddy, i'd like to sincerely thank you for the 40 posts saying the exact same thing. let's all agree to disagree. you look at everything in a first XI quality vacuum. that isn't the real world. this isn't fifa 14 on your console of choice. signing a good backup keeper mitigates the not insignificant risk of having to play a low quality keeper when your first choice keeper gets injured. it happens all of the time, these guys aren't invincible. you can increase your total points equity on the season in ways other than improving your first XI. good squad depth will decrease variance and slightly improve our overall expectation and that has value.

i acknowledged our squad further up, we have a massively bloated squad full of the same players. tim was spot on(although i didn't agree with him saying it publicly) when he said bar a couple they're all much of a muchness. we need more lloris', vertonghens and eriksens, not yet more dawsons, lennons and chadlis if we want to compete with the big 5. i actually don't rate liverpool's squad that highly individually but rodgers is obviously doing a great job with them, hopefully poch can with us.

- Some view Vorm worthy of the price given he provides really nice cover for Lloris.

- Some view Vorm as too expensive for a backup keeper.

I'm curious as to where Rose may go. Could Sunderland be an option? I think they would have him given their familiarity with him (Despite it being MON in charge at the time). Also, if they are willing to pay 14m for Borini, perhaps we could get a fair chunk out of him.

If you don't believe the importance of a decent back up goal keeper, look at the difference in stokes forms last season before and after Begovic broke his finger.

We are similarly reliant on our keeper I would say.

Tighten up the defence is key this season. Getting out the likes of siggy, rose, Dawson will allow us to improve. Wouldn't mind a proper left winger, someone to balance out the attacking element. You really need to give the Beatle another season, and with loaned out players we had out last season it would be nice seeing them get their chance.

Yeah well I somewhat forgot about the rules for a second

Anyways, it is obvious that our defence need strenghtening. With a new lb almost done, cb is top priority IMO, it would be preferable to get two, one first-team ready (schär maybe?) and a good prospect ( the likes of dier). When it comes to the whole "Vorm" discussion, I think that it would be a good deal to take him in for 5 mil, as long as it doesn't affect our other positions too much.

£5m is more than the following RICHER clubs have spent on their 2nd GK:

Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, PSG, Monaco, and AC Milan.

So why is this is a sensible move?

Is it your money DL is spending? You seem overly concerned about something you can't influence and might not even happen. Relax

I just get fed up with people posting Gifs and pictures in here, and it taking forever to load when im not on Wifi!
Atm its ok as i have wifi,but im sometimes in places for work or pub gardens with rubbish 2g or edge signal, and trying to read updates in here when waiting for the next pint is annoying to say the least.
Also if i couldnt post some ITK i had because someone posted gif's and pictures, im sure people would feel the same.

Not for nothing, but if you are out having a pint, WTF are you doing with your head buried in your phone? Pick your head up, and look around every once in awhile, chat with your mates.

Honestly its as much who teams are willing to buy, as it is who we need to sell. We have to get rid of some of the mid-field bloat, and there is not much separating the lot.
