Lesnar camp claiming it was asthma meds that he needed for an asthma attack.
Not going to argue that, but surely a banned substance is a banned substance. Presumably there is an asthma med he could have used that wasn't banned.
And why did he not do what he should have done, and informed the USADA that he had used it??

I believe that for him it is exempt because it's for therapeutic use. Even if he gets off the damage is done. Those people who are ripping hm on social media will not change their views.

Oh dear... Lesnar has also failed an in-competition drug test.
Worse still, it was a test taken on the day of the fight.

Claims that it was Clomiphene which is apparently same as Jones was failed for.

I am not buying into Jones's story, I know he doesn't need to cheat but he has a side to him that cracks under pressure hence doing cocaine and a hit and run on a pregnant woman. He also knows how to manipulate people and game the system.

Feel for the guys they've beaten while on that crap.
If any of you would like a good watch, check out Dana White's new show on youtube, looking for a fight.

To be fair how do we know he doesn't need to cheat? He may well have just been cheating for years

It's only now UFC are funding these expensive ($40k) USADA tests that the cheaters are effectively being caught

Is it on youtube? I saw one episode when he and Matt Serra ended up singing some heavy metal song on stage

While looking for that video, I came across a video of White at a Republican rally, singing the praises of Trump. He has really gone down in my estimation.

He could indeed, Brock and Jones is a Ben Johnson, Marion Jones moment for the UFC.

UFC 200 would have been one of the poorest events ever but for the Tate v Nunez headliner.

Aldo's performance against Edgar was tactically very interesting and surprising as Aldo hardly used his best weapon at all. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch with McGregor.

MVP will surely be a UFC fighter soon. He's probably just waiting to win a title at Bellator before moving on. That knee against Cyborg was one of the most brutal finishes i've ever seen. I'd love to see him fight Stephen Thompson one day. It would be a chess match so not one for the blood and guts brigade, but it would be fascinating for the purists.

Holly Holm lost yesterday, I didn't even know she was fighting. Her stock has plummeted extremely fast.

I used to thai box a fair bit in my younger days and as such I've always kept a reasonable close eye on the Muay Thai world despite it being pretty marginalised as a sport over here

Holm losing to shevchenko is no disgrace, shevchenko is a top top class Muay Thai striker

It was a decent enough fight, I was surprised Holm was being made such a big favourite going in to the fight since it was always likely to be mostly a striking match and shevchenko was always likely to be that little bit sharper and crisper with her strikes

I don't think Holm's stock will fall that far from this (or the loss to Tate to be fair). She's still new to the sport, perhaps she was quickly elevated to an overly lofty pedestal because she destroyed Rousey's hype train (a bit like Diaz beating McGregor) but she's still very relevant in what is an interesting division in my opinion

I think she beats Rousey again, I think she beats Tate in a rematch for example....big fights she could also have still include zingano, Pena and even the champ Nunes (although obviously she would have to wait for that now)

One thing I don't want to happen to the UFC is for losses to become too significant. What I love about kickboxing and mma compared to boxing is that traditionally the best regularly fight the best and they win some they lose some but they always test themselves. I hope I never see the day where losses become a huge deal and people start protecting their records ahead of taking on the biggest challenges and putting on the biggest fights

Holm may have lost two straight but they were two decent fights and personally I value that more than a fighter having two boring wins against cans so they can protect their record and avoid a real test (look at David Haye in boxing right now for a perfect example)

If Holm puts 2 decent wins together she will get another title shot (or a rematch with Rousey which probably still becomes the biggest ever female mma match because of what happened in the first and the size of Rousey's star before that)

Hmm but UFC are not acting like she is relevant, when she beat Rousey she brought new interest to UFC, she should be v fighting on a big card.

Well yea, she obviously hasn't maintained the level she had following her victory over Rousey

But Rousey was the superstar, all the fame was really just on the back of Rousey (Holm herself is not anywhere near as marketable in real terms)

Don't forget for the most part women's mma minus Rousey is still not as mainstream a draw as the mens - Tate ended up headlining the event at 200 sure, but only because 2 previous male events were pulled and the UFC didn't want the Brock Hunt fight to be a five rounder plus the jedrzejczyk title fight the other day was just on a TUF finale show (a measure of the appeal of womens mma without Rousey)

I'm pretty sure Holm's star is at a similar level to what it would have been without the Rousey rematch anyway (and indeed as and when Rousey comes back and they do the rematch she will be part of a HUGE event again regardless of what happens in her career before that time) she's still headlining events, albeit a non paperview fox even (but even if she were still champ she could have been doing the same potentially - although I'm sure she'd have been part of the 200 pay per view undercard like Tate was)

But if Rousey announsed her return tomorrow and her first opponent was to be the rematch with Holm, then instantly Holm becomes involved in a fight that probably only Diaz McGreggor 2 is bigger than right now. Her stock is heavily reliant on the fact she destroyed Rousey but I think it would have been even if she had achieved 2 title defences since then

if someone has won while on drugs he has probably beaten someone on in all likelihood to.
