Just watched the mcgregor/Diaz fight. What a fucking brawl that was, two warriors going at it. Really hope there's a third.

This is a great fight for Conor, he became a man last night. Nobody at Featherweight has pushed him the way Diaz did. You could see the difference between a guy who has been in wars versus a guy who has finished most of his fights in 2 rounds. I was surprised that Conor looked so tired at the end of round 2 and in round 3 considering how he paced himself. I guess that goes to show the difference it makes fighting 2 weight classes above your normal weight. Conor will be a better fighter now that he has this 5 round war under his name (he broke his foot I believe too and still dug it out). Diaz just showed again he is a bad ass. Love this fight and would love the trilogy to be in MGS New York.

What about Rumble though? Damn he is a monster. For me the most devastating KO fighter at any weight class. The only other fighter I think has that kind of 1 punch KO power from little wind up is Mark Hunt. He just lands a short uppercut and knocks Glover into the future. He has to fight DC for the title next maybe also in New York. Still can't help but want him to fight Jones at some point too (who I understand may not be suspended for too long either).

Props to Cowboy Cerrone as well. That guy has to be the most active and committed fighter in UFC. Story is tough but what a beautiful combination to KO him. I love a great combination but to pull off 4 clean strikes and land with each takes serious skill. That's years of sparring coming together there particularly the way he ended it with a head kick when Story's head moved into an unnatural position.

I really enjoyed this card, was more enjoyable than 200. Still to watch the prelims as well.

Cornor did say Diaz can have the rematch but it would have to be at a lower weight think that is only fair he has done it twice now, fair play to both fighters this is what the UFC should be about.

I will have to watch it again, my stream wasn't that good, I was about to watch the rumble match any then the stream cut out for a minute, when I came back the fight was done, wtf.

I take my hat off to both guys but especially Connor. There is no featherweight that could go up to welterweight and do 5 rounds. I think the Mayweather fight has a much bigger chance of happening now.

Fair play McGregor avoided the fight going to the mat. Another minute at the end of the 5th and I would argue he would have lost.
Knockdowns won it for him in the end, nothing else.

Just finally watched the fight and I loved it. Always been a fan of both of these lads. They are genuine fighters who do it for pride. Conor had a much better game plan this time and looks to have improved his grappling loads as well.

MMA can be frustrating with all the drugs and shit but when it all comes together I don't think any thing comes close to it in terms of excitement and tension.

I think the difference between McGregor and virtually all other fighters at UFC is that he isn't aiming to be a UFC champion, he's working to be the toughest he can possibly be and looking above him, at heavier, faster fighters who have advantages over him, and he takes them on. Granted, while he's on that journey, he's shown he's no dumbass when it comes to promotion - he's worked the media like an absolute pro (I would put a substantial amount of money on Vince McMahon's wallet being wafted in his direction for when he's done with MMA... or just fancies a big, big pay day).

Most fighters aim to qualify for a title shot, or to get higher up the bill on the live shows, but i get the distinct impression that the belts mean very little to McGregor. For him it's more about proving he's better & tougher even if it takes a couple of goes.

I think belts do mean something, remember he was going to challenge RDA for the lightweight title before RDA pulled out, if he had won that he would have gone up to welterweight to fight Lawler.
Now that he is so over he doesn't need a belt. But he could even make his own belt like The Million Dollar man did and it would mean something.

Wow

I actually don't have words to describe what a pleasure it was to attend that event

I've been to a fair few high profile sporting events in my life from Spurs 2008 carling cup final win at Wembley, the Rome derby between lazio and roma, various boxing, kick boxing and mma event including AJ becoming world champ and nothing has ever been close to matching the excitement, the pure entertainment or the amazing atmosphere of UFC 202

The explosive knock outs by Codi, Johnson and Cowboy ensured it was a great event regardless of the main event but the main event (maybe emotion is exaggerating my perspective) itself was one of if not the best mma fight ever (certainly the best I've ever seen)

My wife to be may not agree but I have no doubt it my mind that my wedding on Wednesday will have no chance of competiting with UFC 202 for title of holiday highlight

On a side note - i'm sat in a Mexican resturant by the canal in the Venitian casino as I write this message and the waiter just asked me if I was from London and what team I support (as he love the epl) he proceeded to tell me that the owner of the resturant is none other than spurs owner Joe Lewis

Did anyone read the reports of Nick Diaz being attacked by four guys in Hyde night club in vegas?

It was on the evening of our wedding night, we were actually in the club at one point but left about 10.30pm local time because we had a table booked in the Chateau nightclub across the road in the Paris hotel

He suffered a head injury but isn't pressing charges because the four guys got the worst of it

Shame he didn't get to the Hyde earlier, would have been great to have met him as he (along side chuck) is my favourite mma fighter of all time and it would have meant meeting both diaz brothers during the holiday

Glad he isn't seriously hurt though
