The lot of them, including Mourinho

In
No one, then wind the club up so none of us have to suffer anymore.

It's the only realistic option. I mean, we're not signing anyone because of that tight-fisted, bald bastard and ENIC can jusvbcvfdshfjohf...fsdf

Priority in January

1. Striker - Dream would be Timo Werner but he seems to be set for the very elite. Ideal and available is Edinson Cavani who is top quality and perfect for a Mourinho side. Aggressive and physical, can play as the target man but also get in behind. Finances could be an issue but if there could be a way around it, like a large signing on fee to keep his basic wages in our structure I think it's the move to make if we are serious about pushing for top 4 and a cup this season. Krzysztof Piatek looks like the best 'realistic and available' option remaining but is a total punt. Seems to tick a load of boxes but real worries of him being a one season wonder persist.

2. Midfield - DM is a real priority for us however it does not appear that there are many options on the market. Despite initial thoughts, it's a shame Utd had to use Nemanja Matic of late as he actually looks like he could have done a job in the short term. Boubakary Soumare has been linked the most and looks a talented physical midfielder that could potentially be converted into a DM or pivot. The player himself doesn't seem keen on a January move but if we could agree a fee I wonder if the ex-Lille staff could help to convince him to move. For me the old link Sander Berge is an interesting one and could well be worth exploring. The fee Genk seem to be demanding sounds well worth a punt and easily recoup-able. However if the club is waiting for Denis Zakaria in the summer that is fine by me. On the attacking side with Christian Eriksen rightly being ushered out of the door I would love us to make a move for Bruno Fernandes. He sounds like the perfect #8/10 for Jose and brings similar playmaking abilities and long shots with more physicality. I think unless we are expecting to pay big on a striker or DM this window then we should be going all out to hijack Utd's bid for him. We've seen how much Jose likes to lean on Eriksen to turn games so despite not looking like a priority it could be a key signing for Mourinho. Joining Eriksen out of the exit door should be Victor Wanyama with Oliver Skipp heading out on loan to get experience. I'd like us to consider going back for Jack Grealish in the summer if Villa go down.

Ideally in January, but may have to wait until Summer

3. Lo Celso - Take the option up and secure him on a permanent, even more so if we only make loan signings in this window. If we need money up front this window then obviously save the option until then.

4. Right Back - As others have said we need to get away form Serge Aurier dictating the way we have to play, although I do quite like the concept of the lopsided FBs. I suspect this area will have to wait until summer unless Milan make a real push for Serge this window. English football seems to be a hotbed of full back development so Max Aarons would be an ideal target, ticks all the boxes and is homegrown. Nathan Ferguson seems another option but more of a depth signing. If we want to push on with the attacking RB then Youcef Atal would be ideal, however he is currently sidelined with a bad injury.

To be looked at in the Summer

5. Wide Forward - Ideally someone to take the place of Lucas Moura in the starting XI, with Lucas becoming an impact sub (or sold). Finding someone top quality here is what we needed at the height of our powers, the Mane/Salah to push our attacking into elite levels. Jadon Sancho would be the dream but surely too rich for our blood now. Wilfried Zaha and Hakim Ziyech have both been linked in the past and I think would definitely improve us. Dani Olmo looks like a fantastic opportunistic option. As mentioned above Lucas or Erik Lamela (sadly due to injuries) may have to depart to facilitate this. Eberechi Eze is being strongly linked and looks like a great homegrown addition.

6. Goalkeeper - This all depends on how Hugo Lloris finishes the season. Will he be the same after a serious injury? I'm hoping working under a winner like Jose will help his mentality, and Jose may encourage him to take less chances with his kicking which will also help. Hopefully he'll be good for a couple of years still but it is an area we have to be mindful of. Andre Onana of Ajax has been linked in the past and looks promising.

Areas that may be resolved without transfers

7. Left Back - This all depends on how we look to play in future. Ben Davies is a vital cog in the lopsided FB formation Jose is hoping to implement. Ryan Sessegnon is a big prospect who we will no doubt be looking to convert to an attacking full back. We also have Denis Cirkin breaking through the academy who Jose seems keen on. Unless a Ben Chilwell or similar get offered on a platter we may well be covered here.

8. Centre Back - This has become a bit complicated by the emergence of Japhet Tanganga who looks like he has everything required to be a top PL defender already. The new contract for Toby Alderweireld makes this less of a crisis area than it looked to be with his long term partner Jan Vertonghen likely to leave on a free. Davinson Sanchez will have until the summer to prove to Jose he can fulfil his potential, if he does then we may not need to dip into the market here. Jose will need to decide if Eric Dier reverts to CB, if not he may have to be offered for sale. Juan Foyth to be granted his wish go out on loan this January for regular playing time, can also be assessed in the summer. A lot of internal options here.

This would be my 8 point rebuild plan, but as you can see a few areas may be able to be resolved internally.

Rough Final Squad

GK
- Lloris, Gazzaniga, Austin (or other HG GK)
RB - Aarons/Atal, Ferguson
CB - Alderweireld, Sanchez, Tanganga, Dier/New CB, Foyth (L)
LB - Davies, Sessegnon, Cirkin

CM - Ndombele, Zakaria/Soumare/Berge, Winks, Gedson/Sissoko, Skipp (L)
AM - Lo Celso, Bruno/Grealish

I think we need a different type of Centre Half to replace both Jan and Foyth.....Dunk from Brighton.

Proper defender.

Think mitrovic could be a decent buy.
Fits the classic Jose CF mould

Had him on my summer wish list.
Also had Meunier, Grimaldo, Diarawa and Ziyech. Think any of them would have been decent additions with hindsight.

Disappointed no one has added wildly inaccurate fees to their wishlists yet.

It’s normally with Prem players isn’t it, while simultaneously completely overvaluing the dross and contract rebels we need to get rid of. I fully expect something like this soon:

Yeah so I’ve been thinking hard about this and I reckon the following is more than achievable:

Buy:
Maddison - £35m
Perreira - £30m
Brooks - £20m

Sell:
Rose - £45m
Eriksen - £90m
Wanyama - £25m
Sissoko - £58m

I don’t know why the club can’t see the deals that are there to be had. FFS Levy!

January:

IN
Soumare
Bale (loan in)
Cavani or dzeko

OUT
Eriksen

I personally believe with Soumare and Cavani, we can achieve top 4.
Add Bale and we can win a trophy.
