In Saul Niques wants out of At. Madrid & is available for 100ml.. Mourinho wanted him at Utd.. Most complete midfielder out there imo.. If they want to really challenge that's the type of signing to make

If Verthongen signs a new deal no need for CB

Out Sanchez cash in & hope to get back what we paid for him.. longer we keep him the less we'll get back

Thought maybe I'd take this in a different direction and look at where there might be players on teams who might actually sell with values that might actually be manageable. Here's a "best of the rest" scouting list:

Ins:

Defensive Midfielder - this is going to sound ridiculous, but Marvelous Nakamba at Aston Villa is not a bad little player who might have even more success playing for a forward-looking team outside of a low block. Good ball winner who wriggles through tight spaces, has a bit of pace on him. No chance Leicester sells us Ndidi and I don't think Berge fits the profile so we need to look elsewhere. I think he has a profile to potentially be a poor man's Kante in the right set up. Maybe a really poor man's Kante. But still...

Striker - why on earth aren't we looking at Mariano Diaz at RM? They are desperate to offload him and he has the profile to potentially be a complementary piece to Kane when he returns from injury so it's not a crazy long-term option. He's got a different physical profile from Kane so he can help Mou change things up off the bench but he was deadly in the box at Lyon and we could use some more of that.

Right Back - I've never fully understood why Benjamin Henrichs hasn't found a premier league suitor. Development at Monaco has been awful but there's a ton of talent there and positional flexibility, he's technical on the ball and can potentially thrive and develop in the high wing back / defensive winger role that Mou plays Aurier in.

KWP - I love the boy and have watched him and hoped beyond hope he would make it but he needs to move on.

Foyth - loan - in the PL ideally. He needs games. And we need to know if he can step up behind and beyond Jan and Toby

Skipp - loan. Absolutely so excited about this lad but he could go the way of KWP and Onomah if he doesn’t get football

Big Vic - bless him. His legs are broken and I don’t think he would pass a medical but here’s hoping.

Aarons - sounds liek he may be elsewhere bound. I have only seen Ferguson and the lad from Derby play twice I think but they look ok.

Philips - he is the real deal and for me easily the best player in the Chanpionship.

Grealish - Maybe in the summer. If José goes to a 433 as I think he will I love the idea of him being the three which is where I think he will be best. Having said that if GLC porgressss then we may have that covered.

I will muse on further ones

Dean Henderson - £30m: Looking for the future and Lloris having that injury, as well as Henderson being English, would be a good move.
Max Aarons - £30m: Would have a good right back for at least the next 10years.
Ben Chilwell - £45m: Might be a bit too expensive for us but we desperately need to replace Rose.
Soumare - £50m: The CDM/Box to Box player we have been crying out for. Worked with Joao Sacramento at Lille.
Eze - £20m: Love these type of signings. Seems to have great potential in a position we could improve.
Ziyech - £35m: Apparently available for roughly that price. Would instantly improve our starting XI imo at a reasonable price.
Piatek - £30m: We simply need another striker. I think he's good enough to be that.

Total: £240m

OUT:

Hugo Lloris - £30m: Need to see how he performs after the injury as well as being a position were we can improve homegrown quota.
KWP - £20m: Not good enough unfortunately.
Danny Rose: Out of contract in the summer

Victor Wanyama - £5m ?: Injury prone and past it.
Eric Dier - £30m: We need better to progress imo.
Eriksen - £20m: Looks to be leaving soon.
Lamela - £30m: I love him, but we cannot rely on him due to his injuries.

Net Spend of £105m

Just to show how much we have regressed in the past 3 years really. We were arguably 2 players away from potentially winning the league and we now need to do so much business. Poch warned us about needing a big painful rebuild, let's see if Mourinho will be allowed to oversee it. Probably need 2-3 transfer windows.
