Yep - good win against an unusually poor Brighton side and against the severe crosswind as well.
We stay 4th because Citeh lost to Chelski but Reading now breathing down our necks as well with a good win over the Toffees. Positive - our GD goes up to +6 ... Yipeeeee.
However on the negative side our passing to white shirts was very poor and it was'nt as if the players had no time.
Ale was unusually poor I have to say. Ayanne once again was as much use as a bucket with a hole in it "a wasted sub" - would have been better playing Korpela on the field.
The hard pressing game won us the chances at goal but we are still so sloppy and too often panic pass rather than think with the ball before releasing it. Something they have to work on big time.
Also yet again too much kamikaze backpassing for my liking and why RS jkeeps playing Spencer is beyond me? Korpela is so so much better as a GK. Still a lot of work to do ... 2 away games to come against lower placed sides so a good test to see if the team can pocket more goals and points !

It's the first time we've scored more than 3 goals against a Super League team, isn't it?

The lack of goals is what has been holding them back and at 1-0 I was thinking here we go again; but they proved my doubts wrong.

Only disappointment was that 4-0 up and twenty minutes to go it seemed the perfect opportunity to send on Izzy Lane, but no let's play safe and bring on Ayane. We know what Ayane's gonna do so why not give a kid a chance?

I'm pleased with yesterday's result - missed the game (covid related), now there's a bit of a break before the next home game which is good - we've missed the last three!

What was really nice to see was our new Finn being really involved in the game play and seriously happy with her new found friends and one of the first to congratulate our 3 scorers. Great signing.

We need to get as many points as we can in the next 2 games as we are playing the big guns thereafter ... 3 on the trot (Citeh Chelski and the Scum) and also even playing Chelski twice in a matter of weeks. So in reality only 4-5 winnable games left before the end of the season as I doubt we will pick up anything from the big gun games now that they are all stronger and we didnt get in a proven striker in the Jan window. The Reading game will be a real test as they are on a real run.
Dont think we can maintain where we are nor can we knick 4th in the run up as Citeh and probably Reading/Wet Spam will all overtake us before too long but this would be the best season yet in the WSL. Hopefully in the summer we carry on with the clearout 6-8 in my book and bring in much better players especially creative wingers (like Citeh have) and 2 top strikers.

RS is saying all the right things before the away to Birmingham .. she needs to however start using the better players and not the likes of Naz/Ayanne. Simon and Tang have to start. The new Finn Summernan has already been an inspirational signing and please please please do not use Spencer in goal.... Korpella all the way.
She should also start Schnaderbach alongside Zardorsky and Bartrip as the new back 3.

Really poor week for the men's team ... another loss 2-0 this time to Wolves. Thats 6 points dropped against teams we should beat. Goes to show what a problem we face at the sharp end of the club.
As for the women .. they faired well again with 6 points gained over the last 2 games. A 2-0 win over Brum at theirs. Goals from Neville and Percival although it was not until the 2nd half did we take control of the game. We had the chances but we still play a lot of panic play.
Why RS keeps playing Spencer is beyond me ?
Anyhow we keep pressure on the top teams
With Wet Spam and Reading both losing and Citeh taking down Manure we are back to 3rd with some breathing space. We for sure will need it when we play the top 3 after the next game as I expect we will lose all 3 if being honest. We just cannot hold our own that well against the Ruskis The Scum and a much improved Citeh and then we have Chelski again almost straight after (I think 2 games later). We must try win the nest game and bag another 3 points if we can but we do have Tang and Cho back now - with another 3 points that will hold off the rest. Well done to the spurs women's team you are doing the club proud and you now deserve to be supported with real investment come the Summer. Lets hope so.

Just seen the hilights to review the best bits of the game again after watching the game yesterday as our other game was not live.
Have to say why does RS keep picking Naz? - she has zero end product and had 2 golden chances to score with the whole goal in front of her and she bottled both. Would have been better taking her off at half time and not Schnaderbach. She is worse than useless to this team.

The next game is Reading (Away) and they will not be easy especially at theirs and RS will have to be very careful as to who she picks to play
We are not that good at controlling most first half's (even at home) and we need to start doing this and making good use of any % possession and the chances the team creates.
I personally would def go back to picking Korpella as she needs game time and be ready for the 3 bigger games thereafter
Spencer is always a risk - Spencer's decision making and clearing her lines is very poor and you can see it in the faces of the players she puts under pressure by her passing. She always takes the settle kick before she hits the ball to whereever and it's that touch she is not in control of and she need to work on that big time or learn how to kick the return ball first time. many keepers can do this with ease - she rarely ever does.
Then there is Naz / Ayanne and even Ubogagu .. yes they all have speed but zero end product and no matter who of these she picks they will end up with a chance that will be wasted as all 3 panic. They need practice on how to attack a goal and the GK when they are in a 1-1 situation. They should watch vid's of the 2 wing attacks at Citeh - they are probably the best in the league but they have to stop panic play when up front on their own and think before hitting the ball. If we can do this we have a good chance at the next 4 up and coming games. We MUST beat Reading to show we are worthy of where we find ourselves and make a statement for the 3 big games approaching in March.

Would be a great day indeed if some of the better England players actually decided to join our journey and came to Spurs
We certainly could afford them if Levy was to support RS and her vision and try attract these players away from the likes of Citeh/Scum and the Ruski mob

Shelina not being used in 2 games ... hmm interesting (wonder why?)
Percival in the middle of a game where they (NZ) get thrashed and one player doing a hat trick of own goals !!!
Not good for the confidence building

Chelski thrash Leicester 7 nil - the team we threw our game against recently (3-1) ... so chances are we would have been taken apart as well.
