Danny Rose looked a decent prospect when we bought him from Leeds but there comes a time when it's obvious he's never going to get the game time with us he needs to progress. It's not fair on the kid to keep him as he might still make a career at a lesser club. It doesn't make financial sense either and he's taking up a place that a younger prospect could use. Take Villa's cash and say thanks for the memory.

Both of these options work for me. I can't see him being a world beater, much like Jamie O'Hara - would be a great player for us if we were half way down the PL table.

Brazil Spur, loving the team in your sig mate

Someone has mentioned a link to Iker Muniain to JJ on Twitter. JJ's response was to ask where he heard that.

Curiosity or worried because it was a secret target? You decide. Anyway he's a young left winger so fits the profile for back up and possible long term replacement to Bale so worth mentioning.

Edit: JJ now tweeted that no truth in it.

You know what I think id just take it, we need to move on and get some of our targets in the door:

38,000,000.00 EUR =
£29,987,810.39

No. We can't get rid of one of our best player for 8 million more than Moutinho and then let Real Madrid make Arsenal stronger by giving them Sahin. Has to be a better outcome than that.

I do see where you are coming from but what happens if we leave it too late & Porto don't want to play ball, do we keep Modric & hope he plays to his ability or do we sell & try to bring someone in quickly?

I agree with you that I don't want us to bail out early but if by selling Modric it loosens the purse strings a bit and we sign (for example) Moutinho, Lloris & Leandro then I think id accept that at the mo?

Anyway, sod it COYS! :)

Not as easy as that is it? - how much goes back to his previous club? Do we force him into handing in a transfer request saving us his loyalty/moving bonus? We're talking about a lot of money difference unfortunately. If the Pienaar deal back to Everton took so long over maybe £500k, then this will take much longer based on £5m imo.

No way we should accept that, sorry Madrid look at the current market and how much players are going for. Downing and Henderson 20m each, Carroll 30m.

35m should be absolute minimum, shouldn't get mugged off, DL won't let it happen, % goes to his old club too!

ist? That's a bit of a hard word to decipher. The "T" isn't close to the "S" on a QWERTY keyboard. So did he forget an "N"? Is or isnt or isn't.....but not ist

Or maybe he chose to use some German and thus went for "ist" instead of "is"...

Madrid can sod off with €38m - we'd need to be well clear of €40m to cover the eventuality that we had to fall back on activating Moutinho's release clause.
