Right, here's a brand new thread for the discussion of Spurs related Tweets. That's Tweets, not formations, not will Levy back AVB, not spending over the last few transfer windows, just the Tweets.

They can have him. Although showed promise at left back, I doubt he will ever be all that. Few million quid and I'd snap their hands off and say thanks for the wonder goal v Arsenal!!

I would say let them have him on loan for the season, let us see what he can do when in a team more and getting the minutes on the pitch and then sell him to them if we dont think he will be able to step it up from them to us.

I think it is clear already that he's going to be a backup at best for us. If AVB is really looking to upgrade on BAE then Rose surely has no chance of making the grade. We have Zeki (pending the tribunal) as a backup, so I think we'd happily let him go if they made a reasonable offer.

I watched him and Caulker play regular games for bristol city. Caulker shone and looked like an aston martin. Rose was very average. He didnt even shine in a shocking bristol city side. I saw nothing to suggest he was a young star in the making.

Players develop at different rates, let's not write the lad off quite yet, I think he's got abit of an edge about him, doesn't shirk a tackle and has a decent enough left foot so could be useful in a squad of 25

I was told that Rose was expecting either to go out on loan this season anyway. He wanted more first team action one way or another and by the looks of it, with the (soon to be confirmed) signing of Fryers and Naughton able to cover both fullback positions he is unlikely to get much game time.

I think a sale with a buy back option (as they do in Spain) would be the best solution in this instance, although it's unlikely to happen.

Don't care what anyone says he could sit on the bench till his 85 for that debut goal. To this day I still have wet dreams of that volley

Rose hasn't really progressed as I was hoping he would. I would be happy to see him sold to bring a bit more money in for new signings.

Let's kick this off.

Transfer Updates@EPLtransferLink
Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham youngster Danny Rose. #THFC #AVFC

This was in response to an 'insightful' article yesterday that said Villa were going to get rid of their left back Hutton. When I read that I kind of dismissed it. Kyle Naughton in to Villa - maybe. Rose might well be true, but we'll see.

The article talks about him not being included in the squad for the Euros despite playing well, but he was, he was just injured.. smells fishy to me.

The original article on the L'Equipe website acknowledges this.

3 tweets for you.. pure speculation, Pereira is an outcast at Porto. 26, Uruguayan, plays left back or midfield.

The Football Man@intheknow99
This is a complete and utter punt, but maybe Alvaro Pereira to Tottenham?

The Football Man@intheknow99
He's no longer training with Porto, wanted out for over a year, AvB wanted him at Chelsea, probably be cheaper now...

The Football Man@intheknow99
Could do with cover at left back/left wing for Assou-Ekotto/Bale and also Danny Rose is useless. Makes sense.

Both of these options work for me. I can't see him being a world beater, much like Jamie O'Hara - would be a great player for us if we were half way down the PL table.

Seems almost a bit old regime style for me, that being said we need cover in that position so i could think of a lot worse players to sign on the cheap, however i can't see this happening until we shift the likes of Jenas, Bentley etc...

I'd be happy with him - he was one of the players I still remember from the Uruguay team that did well in the WC (Suarez & Forlan notwithstanding)
