“We need to rebuild it’s going to be painful “ surely points towards eriksen. Unless he considers losing janssen and wanyama a rebuild lol.
I actually think he is referring to letting some players go who have played a pivotal role in getting us to this point, but aren't up to the standard or reliability required for the next phase. It'll be painful, as they've given much to the club, and therefore it's hard to basically say to them; 'we're moving on, and we don't think you fit in with what we're looking to achieve'. That's akin to letting staff go for a lay-off, due to general business purposes. It can be gut-wrenching telling someone they are surplus to requirements after a number of years of them being loyal and working their asses off.

So, with that in mind, I can see players like; Trippier, Davies, Wanyama, Llorente, Aurier, Lamela and even Dier being told they'll be open to offers for them. As each of them is either not of a high enough standard, or have been perpetually unreliable due to fitness concerns. I'd imagine that Poch is close to many of them, and 'cos he's actually a decent human being, it'll be painful telling them he's willing to let them leave.

I'd rather club spent 35m more on a cm then sign sessegnon for that price when we can just tell him to wait and sign him for practically nothing in a year

When he’s available for nothing there’ll be teams offering him a stupid wage package. Sometimes paying a transfer fee is actually cheaper than a Bosman.

We can chance it with him as he wants to stay in London and we are the best option for him

Remember how upset he was when Mason left. That’s the perfect example of the picture you paint ?

Thinking about the squad, it's scary how few I'd really, really want to keep after this season. Probably Lloris, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane and maybe Lucas Moura And Walker Peters for another season. I'd like Dier to stay too, if he would be fit for a whole season. I can't even come up with a full starting eleven of player I think we have to have.

Winks, Foyth, Toby & Sanchez all worth a place in the squad
