It was win win for me today.
If you keep saying that you'll convince yourself.
It's ok to be upset that you've just lost in the semis...I would've been if we'd lost yesterday.
Not sure what the big deal is tbh.

Never said I’m not gutted now, I’m just focussing on the positive. And obviously I’m not sitting at home cheering on SA.

This is ridiculous as well. So they have to drag the mighty England down to stand any chance?
Or play better and make less kicking errors. They are capable of doing both. It's not arrogance to say England played far better yesterday than SA did today, that's just the way it was.

Hand on heart do you think NZ played well yesterday?

I thought they were massively out-done at the breakdown by a better team on the day. Don't think they made a huge number of unforced errors. Maybe not at 100% but that NZ team would have easily beaten the S.Africa team based on their performance today (as in fact they did in the group stage).

But you're sort of deflecting aren't you? Even if New Zealand didn't play well, England beat them.

Wales went out to a team not playing particularly well.

NZ maybe weren’t at 100%???

What type of errors do you think SA made the most of today?

And SA beat a injury hit team not playing particularly well

South Africa made handling errors. Their kicking game wasn't very good. They didn't even make huge gains territory wise with their forwards for a lot of the game. They conceded a silly try.

They will not be looking at that as a good performance. Which is why I'd be quite disappointed if I was a Wales fan.

So, wait a minute, let me get this straight. If SA forwards don’t make huge gains that’s got nothing to do with Wales but when NZ make any error forced or unforced it’s down to England?

I think handling errors are inevitable when so many balls are coming down with frost on them, but in open play, such as it was, there weren't many more than usual I don't think. Both teams can play better than they did, but the tactics obscured a lot of their talent and did really make it a bit boring for the neutral.

Yesterday NZ weren't at their best, but they weren't allowed to be at their best. They were under more pressure than usual and they coughed up some errors as a result.

As for the final, if England play like they did yesterday, and SA play like they did today, England should win. That isn't arrogance. Assuming that England WILL play as well, and SA no better would be not only arrogant, but daft. I expect a close match and I'm not going to call it. Yet.

As I said in this very thread, Wales defended very well for large parts of the game so yeah that was at least as much down to Wales as South Africa.

My point stands on the rest of it though. South Africa did not play well.

Yup I fully expect South Africa to up their game and as you say if England play like they did yesterday then the Saffers really didn't need to improve.

But England did have an absolute worldy yesterday. Absolutely no guarantee they can do it again.

It’s not hard. You have forced errors and you have unforced errors.

The majority of errors that NZ made were forced as a result of a brilliant game by England but they still made a lot (at least 5) unforced errors that you’d never see do

A lot of the errors SA made tufts were forced but it wasn’t by a particularly in firm wakes team and the reason why the forced error count was high was because if the tactics of each game.

saying, if we get dragged down to that level it’ll be close is not only arrogant it shows a complete lack of understanding of the different dynamics involved in each respective game yesterday and a whole other set of dynamics that have to be considered on Saturday.

today you had 2 low risk teams employing a kicking based game and neither team played particularly well. However, you can impose yourself on teams and still not play well and vice versa.

By 'dragged down' I would interpret that in terms of performance rather than style.

Watching that game today I didn't feel as if South Africa imposed their game on Wales because Wales didn't really offer much to impose on.

If England play like they did yesterday South Africa will absolutely have to impose themselves if they're going to play their game.
