Honestly as others have said, this business we’ve done up to this point would be satisfactory for a club of our stature if Kane had stayed.
With him gone, it’s not unreasonable to expect a large chunk of money to now be spent improving the attack that Levy has just blown a hole through.
The optics of spending £0 and loaning a winger from Barca after selling Kane for £100m is horrendous too.
Saying that, it sounds remarkably similar to our LCB hunt last summer, where we were linked with £60m+ players like Bastoni and Gvardiol, only to settle on a loan from Barca…
The man on the yacht had to be bailed out of Rikers some how. It’s downright unacceptable and needs explaining. We’ve net spent around £70m this summer. Bournemouth’s net spend exceeds £100m. Where is all of our money?
Depends if you said it in the ITK thread.I think I got banned from the transfer section for saying, we use transfer hype to sell season tickets then end up with a net zero net spend.
Oligarchs and sport washing has little to do with us going out to Fulham in August. It’d be nice to even attempt to go toe to toe but Levy keeps us well away from the fight.Outside of Chelsea, Liverpool and man city, who else is winning trophies.
Arsenal have probably had the barest 20 years in their club history. Utd can't muster a league challenge, and have only won 1 title in 5 years.
Newcastle, Everton, Villa, Leeds, Forest, who are all of similar stature historically have won nothing in 20 odd years.
This has as much to do with oligarchs and sportswashers taking the competition away.
Uefa have had to introduce an inferior cup competition, just to give other clubs a chance.
The whole idea of it being a competition seems like a bit of a fallacy, imo.

Even taking those in to account we are not making big profits which are then being salted away by Lewis/Daniel Levy.Looking at the net profit figures (I.e after amortisation and depreciation) is very misleading.
Tenuous? After over 20 years? The evidence is there. We had the players to beat Fulham though didn't we. New players, players on form, good players. We didn't pick them.
I'm all for levy bashing but Im finding pinning the Fulham result on him quite tenuous.

Is that not showing that our ‘weakened side’ just shines a torch on how long we have had a weak squad? No one said that. Did levy tell ange to play a weakened side? Did he tell the players and conte to not turn up away to Sheffield utd. Away to forest?, away to Colchester?
No one saying he picked the team but he certainly would make it clear to the manager the priority is league position so managers play/pick the team accordingly. It also highlights that the squad is just not good enough again this has been versed by a number of managers over a number of years but nothing changes. No one said that. I’ll be completely done with Daniel Levy and ENIC if the remaining business we do is a winger on loan and a replacement CB for our deadwood.
If it’s a straight choice between Fati OR Johnson, serious questions need to start being raised about what ENIC are doing with the money this club is making.
Last year we had the “cash injection” which actually turned out to be our entire transfer budget, ignoring the stadium revenue, TV and CL qualification money.
Now, after rinsing the fans dry with price increases and selling our greatest ever player for a nine-figure sum, it seems as if ENIC are once again going to plead poverty. If we don’t sign Johnson and end up selling Hojbjerg, we may genuinely break even this summer.
The fans and the club are being milked here. It’s a disgrace.
You are upset about a conversation between levy and Ange you have made up in your head mate.
I would be utterly amazed given our lack of any sort of success over the last quarter century if he was told to write off the cup.
We are out the cup because we didn't respect the competition and picked our weakest players. Players we literally are trying to sell.
1,000,000% this, nailed it.Honestly as others have said, this business we’ve done up to this point would be satisfactory for a club of our stature if Kane had stayed.
