It's actually unfathomable to me that any club or chairman would sell the best player in the clubs history, it's highest ever goalscorer, all whilst being one their own for a fee of over £100m and then do absolutely nothing in regards to replacing him.

Can you even imagine that at any other club? Ludicrous that we're in this position knowing all along that Kane was off.

I'm not the most Levy out bloke in the world - I'm also not his biggest fan - but fucking hell something has to give here.
You believe that Richarlison was intended to be additional to Kane then?

Lets not get carried away with Royal, fuck me on Sat when he came on and went straight into some weird midfield position and tried to play tikataka while PEH had to drop into right back to cover his nonsense - I would say we are light at both fullback positions, BUT its clear they aren't the priority. And Porro was getting caught out on the ball time and time again see MNF Carra and GNev analysing it. Though saying all that, Gentle Ben Davies with the winner ... lol, great finish

I thought Porro had a tough first 15 but after that I thought he was great.
I think for a squad in our position going for ? somewhere in the top 8, hopefully late stages of domestic cups and one game a week - Royal and Porro do us absolutely fine. More than fine.
I am not sure where young Djed fits in but that would be another otpion.

You don’t approve of Ange’s tactics then? Prefer Neville and Carraghers approach to coaching professional football teams?

How the mighty have fallen... Thanks Daniel COYS
Allow me to contextualise - the squad nor first team are where we are 4-5 years ago and we are without Europe for the first time in a long time and we are rebuilsing. I am hoping for much better than top 8 but we do need to start somewhere.
However I agree than daniel's stewardship has much to answer for us does the last incumbent in the manager's job.

That's literally how our fullbacks are set up by Ange..

Porro had a nervy start on Saturday then grew into the game and was fine after.

Why so angry Bob?

Short memory. It wasn't that long ago that we never did anything at all until the last knockings of any transfer window. Things have changed, especially since Paratici arrived. Whether you want to acknowledge that or not is a different issue.

Yet another passive aggressive poster.

That’s not true. We’ve always made signings through a window. But we’ve always left things to the last minute too.

I understand how we set up with Ange, though Royal still seemed to play his own game, and the setup is NOT to swap places with Hojberg and stand in front of team mates who are looking for you to move into space, he needed to be more disciplined especially when defending the lead should which is the priority at the stage of the game. In any case this isn't the Royal thread and he's still shit.

Im angry because of many things on this prison barge of an island, and Daniel Levy's incompetence is one contributing factor.

Phew thread back on track.

I didn't say that. I said they analysed how Porro was struggling to receive the ball in a more central area with his back to play, not being a midfielder, and got caught out on several occasions. Ie you have to be an excellent player to play in that position, and that position isn't natural for a fullback. I like Porro and can't wait to see Ange get the best out of him, but he was being asked to do something very new, which is great and will take time to adjust, he is capable of it.

Isn’t that what Ange’s fullbacks do?
They do in the attacking phases of the game, though Royal decided not to do any defending and was left for PEH to do his job which can be great but at the time in the game wasn't needed, it just caused more positional problems. So yes they can push up and go narrow, but they are still fullbacks. The mindset of Royal was to seemingly run past everyone, or stand next to them, rather than play his position in context of what was happening in the game and the scoreline at the time.

So Levy out, yeah...

It was a terrible piece of analysis. You should read Eccleshare's in-depth assessment of Porro in The Athletic. Made a mockery of everything Neville said, which seemed to be based on two examples at best.

I don't agree with your comments on Royal at all. He took up positions and played exactly how Ange has instructed the team to play throughout pre-season and the first two league games. It was obvious that it was PEH who doesn't get it or have the technical ability to implement it fluidly.

Don’t bother - the bloke is clearly of the ilk of those who booed Royal because Conte was shite.
Wish we could oust these types of “supporters” tbh

Maaaate.... went all in there didn't you?
What do you mean by 'oust' exactly? Feel like this is playing the man (ilk) rather than the ball and tbh I'm entitled to my opinion on a player as much as you are, but you had to get personal and take it somewhere else.

I see parallels with a job I used to do years ago.
Hear me out...
I was a service engineer on security systems, and used to go to customer sites once every 12 months.
There were 2 types of customers, the ones who actually kept on top of things, you’d go there and the systems would be running 100% , so I’d advise them on how to prevent problems that were likely to happen over the next 6/12 months...preventive maintenance, stopping problems before they’re even problems.
Then there were the other types of customers. Half the system wasn’t working, things all smashed up and damaged. When you gave them the list of shit that needed urgent attention, they’d just say ‘we haven’t got the budget for that, so just fix the 3 most urgent things.’
Then by the time another 12 months had passed the things that were already problems are now massive problems, on top of the new problems that would generally creep in over time.

THFC under Enic are the 2nd type. Never fixing everything, Just doing enough to keep the money rolling in.
The piecemeal approach.

Lets focus on the right man in this thread. We've sold kane and replaced him with no one. Those saying we've replaced Kane with Richarlison even though we had him last year. Who are we replacing richarlison with?

We blatantly need a striker that can actually score goals like Furuhashi was at Celtic. We're also rumoured to be selling Sanchez which would leave us with Dier on the half way line chasing players toward goal.

Less focus on transfer fee generation and more on building a winning squad for the big man.

The last few years of under investment and bad appointments sees me in the Levy out camp but..

getting Maddison, vDV and Ange in, whilst making 100m on a 30 year old wantaway player with a year on his contract is a pretty decent window i think in the cold light of day.

Could easily have done the easy PR option of getting Poch back.

couple of strong signings (RW and ST?) between now and close of window and it will be one of our best. Just saying.

There are many reasons for ousting him, but in my opinion this windows isnt one of them.
