I think there needs to be far more fan engagement at least twice a year a Q&A section. An event like this could be organised with STH having the first window to apply to attend then one Hotspur + and one Hotspur members. Allocate a percentage for each category etc.

Just find it weird how this is not a thing and how instead the Premier League stories episode and latest financial statement have been released as a massive PR exercise. Totally get this, however, I would like our fans to be engaged with our chairman beforehand. I know I am being rather naive on this but this is such a no brainer to give those who invest a huge chunk of their money and time in the club an opportunity of the overview of where we are at before the media. Like an embargoed section before it goes out to print.

I read recently that Southampton did one of those things earlier this week I think. QPR do this regularly and have been to one with Mark Warburton, Ferdinand and the CEO. It was pretty interesting and insightful and actually humanises the club, if that makes sense, and brings everyone closer with concerns voiced etc.

Didnt we have one a while back in the Poch days or am I imagining that? but do think they need to have a fans forum.

I would agree it’s not all fans that are shortsighted and you are clearly not shortsighted either. That comment was more my frustration in protests etc that I am not sure is valid really as many clubs would dream of what has happened to Spurs over my time since the 1990s..

My main point was that actually on the football side we are on the up, not only on the financials and Stadium etc….yes Levy has made errors on the football side, yes he should not be involved on deciding which players we buy (this is what I have understood happens via the ITK) yes he should absolutely be critiqued for it. However our progress on the pitch has matched the off pitch, we are not there yet but I would argue we are on an up overall. There was a wobble after Poch, but it has been somewhat fixed with Conte, FP For now…. I’d mention again, what club leadership has been as consistent as Levy? Not Arsenal, Not United, Chelsea fell off, Liverpool? Nope they were a mess, solved it with Koop but have dropped. Only City has been run well (ignoring the current news) and the fact they have endless money, they haven’t had many mistakes.

All the clubs have had flops of players. Spurs with Ndombele and Le Celso however United have many more, Liverpool had an exceptional period but some suspect ones now….

I think what most have concluded to is the main question, Is Levy the right team to take Spurs further and what I am arguing is that why is he not as of yet, because the journey is not complete, and why would be not give him the time to continue. We are investing more in the players, we are earning more and we can complete with all accept United, Chelsea and City really now….

I believe Levy should continue the process over the next 5 years and see if he is the correct one or not. Unless we are saying someone else would be better? A State run one, maybe, am I tempted and excited by that, yes……. But there is a beauty to doing it our way and I would say again we Levy hasn’t not failed yet and hasn’t shown big signs we are regressing….

I think he’s the right person, dare I say it and I would review my opinion over the next few years….. but protests of the board out seem strange to me when we’ve had massive gains over the 20 year Tenure …..
consistent as Levy in delivering on field success? The other teams you quote have had ups and downs, but their trophy cabinets have overflowed during the time Levy has been at the helm of our Club. Anyway, we can't get shot of him, so might as well give him an earful- at the right time/s...

I think this was the one with Poch back in 2017. Makes perfect sense to have a panel: chairman, coach and captain:

To be fair, Levy has acknowledged that there has been an issue with player recruitment. Most people would agree with him so as much as you might be tempted to brush off the Ndombele and Conte signings, the point is that we can ill afford to make mistakes because we are not on the level of those other clubs that you have mentioned so it is good that Daniel Levy has acknowledged it.

The Ndombele and LoCelso signings were ironically instances of Levy backing the Manager. They were who Pochettino wanted and Levy got them for him. Levy's always being accused of not backing the Coach and buying crap players off his own back, but these 2 very costly acquisitions don't fall into either category.

Teams in the championship have a better keeper and defence than Forster, Tanganga, Dier and Davies. The financial mismanagement of this team is scary.

The brass neck of the pr1ck to suggest that the football team comes first, when you see the same old dross week in week out.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Levy's biggest issue is that he needs to decide what philosophy he wants to follow and conduct a competent recruitment process. Does he even know?

no it’s clear we have no philosophy.

Redknapp>AVB>Sherwood>Poch>Jose>Nuno>Conte.

You couldn’t hope to have a more disparate group of managers. Poch was second choice, the first choice was LVG, again total opposites.

Levy has no clue what he wants us to play. Think about it, the product the club sells which is football and they don’t know what product to sell. It’s only fan loyalty which saves them, if this was free market, Spurs would have gone under years ago.

We are so in need of new ownership, significant rebuild and change of mentality. With Levy were just going round in circles with him never quite able to or wanting commit and take advantage of momentum built. So many missed opportunities over the year to plug the gap in the team.

Usually it's go for the flavour of the month and hope for the best.
Yep.

And it's why you need someone who is ahead of ideas in football.

Levy appointing Jose was the definition of the complete opposite. Oh, Jose was amazing 10 years ago, I wanted him 15 years ago, now is the time to bring him in.

A football man/woman would never have done that.

They would have been thinking about the next better version of Poch. An evolution of Poch.

I think that was the moment Levy threw everything that we'd worked towards away because that time under Poch should have been the springboard.

? and the fact that Levy said at the time “I think Jose is one of the top 3 managers in the world and we are pleased to have him, I’ve tried to hire him for a number of years”.

1. He wasn’t one of the best at that time he was on a downhill trend

2. It came across as Levy just only focusing on getting Jose in tunnel vision rather than stopping and thinking is he actually still a good manager and more importantly will he actually be a good fit for our club and at this time (answer to both of those was unequivocally NO), the same with Nuno and it’s looking more and more like the same with Conte.

Unless a club has the riches of a City, Chelsea or Newcastle then it is almost impossible to be successful without a manager and player recruitment policy that fit the club and their model and their fans demands, and even when a club does have tons of money it’s still very important to have a properly aligned plan as well as succession planning, we struggle under Levy with both of those things.
