I get why you say that. But if we own the land and get profits from the hotels/homes on there or sell some off for quicker cash, it will help us close the gap to the top earning clubs more.

We won't (with enic in charge anyway) pump in the money like Chelsea or city do so at least there is a clear plan here on how we can get extra cash in again!

Just wish we have as clearer plan for the squad than the buildings....
Is the hotel and new housing part of our obligation for regeneration? Or is it a money spinner for ENIC?

I'd applaud the hellbent pursuance of property if some of the dividends were injected into the team. They're not, so I won't.

I wonder if he genuinely thinks that us fans are excited about the prospect of more property development

that’s seems to be his passion these days. He is probably bored of the football.

He might not be bored with football but I certainly get a vibe that he is bored of ungrateful ****s that don't applaud him for everything he has done for the club. (That's Levy's thoughts not mine)

And it shouldn’t, we should learn from Everton demonstrated outside and supported their team inside.
I actually think Everton, Villa are great examples of how we should look at them and really evaluate where we are compared tho these teams. We are similar to these teams 10/20 Years ago. Villa were ahead of us at the time I started following Spurs in the 90s. we have had sustainable growth and relative success over the last two decades. I have watched Spurs break the glass ceiling of top 4, when it was impossible, I have watched us mount title challanges built on strong youth. I have visited the best stadium in the world, where we have had truly world class talents, Bale, Berbatov, Carrick and now Kane. I watched Spurs in a Champions League final………. I can’t believe I ever saw that. Yes we didn’t win and we haven’t won trophies, yes we haven’t always spent the most or blown money on the worlds best. We have sustained solid growth more than any other team in the world Id bet without state funding……

I get upset with Levy, I get frustrated that he’s involved in transfers and sacked managers at the wrong point ( opinion), but I am actually Grateful for him, I am proud of Spurs, I am proud we are sustainable, I am proud we have the best infrastructure and are developing it further to increase our revenueThis is because this puts us in the position to compete with the best. Which chairman owners have sustained an upward curve over the 20/30 years in global football, Man U ? No… Arsenal? No. Chelsea? No. No one apart from Real, even Barcelona have failed..

I am not against complaining or criticizing Levy but really we Spurs fans let ourselves down really with the shortsighted fickleness. It’s why other clubs mock us……

Big picture we are in the right path and although it hasn’t been smooth all the time we are still moving up and forward, if we actually looked and didn’t sulk because Arsenal, after cocking up their amazing period in history, are finally mounting a title challenge they haven’t even won yet. We had two in the last 20 years compared to Arsenal’s first in 2023…..

I think Levy and Enic deserve to see where it goes while the overall flow is up before we demand better owners than the Oil backed or the Americans, even Liverpool are failing already……

COY, I guess their will be a fair few negs on this post in this thread but I think my points are valid…

Non-football operations don’t count towards FFP calculations. So no amount of Beyoncé concerts or hotels are going to help pad our FFP figures. Given that we’re already extremely conservative with regards to squad spending/FFP ratio, I wouldn’t hold out much hope for that changing.

Is that yes to the first part or second? Or both?!
I'm quite certain that the hotel and affordable housing was part if the planning permission. I'd be surprised if the stadium was approved without some kind of commitment to building affordable housing.

Watched it earlier. Thought he came across well to be honest. He has always been a smart businessman. Would we have the infrastructure we do now without him? Highly unlikely.

Just wish he could translate that to the football side of things.

A very well rounded argument and a fair one too. I’ve been more of a sceptic than anything else with Levy and ENIC: fed up with the same old but realistic knowing, especially Levy, is not going anywhere anytime soon. Lewis might give in his stake and this is where things might change but still cannot see Levy completely going.

We most definitely share the same period of growing up on mediocrity and at times even below that! When I went to see my first Spurs game at WHL in 1997, the season before that we finished 10th with Wimbledon, Sheffield Wednesday, Villa, Leicester finishing above us along with the usual dominant teams above them. That 1997/98 season we finished 14th with Derby, Coventry and West Ham above us, well most of the league was ?.

I totally agree with you, the more you look back and reflect I for one when I was taking the relentless banter from Arsenal and Man U fans at the time would be laughed out of the room if I’d say Spurs would have a few title runs in the 2010s, Champions League finalists as well. To be honest I would’ve never believed it would be possible in the early 2000s.

I would be disingenuous to say that Levy and ENIC have been a disaster as they clearly haven’t. I just feel they’ve punched above their weight with the football side of things just like we have been doing on the pitch for the past 15 years or so especially when you look at Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd.

I’m at the stage now of not getting too annoyed, frustrated or surprised by Levy and ENIC when it comes to them not giving the squad that extra investment at the time when we could challenge. At the end of the day I’ve always been Spurs and will be until I die. In the law of averages we will surely win trophies in my lifetime and turn those nearly moments from the recent past to a flurry of trophies in the future. COYS.
