A book while you barely started your managerial career is cringey for sure. He think he's a way better coach than he is.

And the title ‘a whole new world’ and that nobber Balague being involved... so much cringe and so little time...

Whatever anyone says trying to pin on Levy, we have a hugely talented squad and Poch is still playing the completely wrong formation that is exposing us and the players probably think is dumb.

As I’ve said till I’m blue in face it’s so obvious to play 4-2-3-1 and you cannot play Winks, Ndombele and Sissoko in same midfield as too unbalanced!

Play Sissoko at right back and see how Winks / Ndombele do in a less narrow midfield with three attacking players ahead of them (and Ndombele not having to struggle wide of the diamond).

And if we’re still too soft put Dier in place of one of them or play a 4-5-1 and stick Moura and Son wide of the three of them.
It is a hugely talented squad, but very unbalanced, with too many physically or mentally tired players to play the way this manager wants.

Over the past few years, i've developed an affinity for Poch about as strong as one could have for a complete stranger. The guy *was* Spurs. It wasn't just about what he did for us on the pitch, but his class off of it.

Taking my heart out of the equation however, it's clear we're very close - if not already past - the point of no return. Tonight was the sort of result that sends shockwaves across Europe. A total and utter embarrassment that has ramifications beyond the 3 points. It's a psychological hammer blow and I don't think it's an overreaction to say it damages the club's profile somewhat.

It hurts, but I see no redemption from this.

Because if Poch is 100% commited, like JJ says, then I believe he deserves time to turn this around.
He cannot turn it around, if the players are not on board though. The reasons for that may after all very well be down to himself, so unless he's ready to eat humble pie and take advice about the formation and players not feeling comfortable with their roles and instructions, this will just carry on.

I think the only glaring issue we have right now is at right back personnel wise. Everywhere else could easily be resolved by a new coach with fresh ideas.

And I just don’t understand why he keeps persisting with same crap when everyone can see it isn’t working...

Didn't we try that before.. same issues arose..
With who? We’ve not hired a top class manager who’s a proven winner in the last 30 years apart from Ramos and he’s 2nd tier really and couldn’t speak English. Chelsea have in the same time had: raneiri, peak Jose, ancheloti, Solari, benetiz and sarri to name a few, when have we last hired any manager of the quality of any of those?

Poch needs to make wholesale changes.

I dont know why he has fallen in love with a player like Winks, who seems nailed on to start every game.

Dont get me wrong, he is a good squad player that will always play the safe pass. But he doesnt break up the play, doesnt look to play through balls. He might go for a dribble now & again but frustratingly always does a half turn and pass back. He kills the offense going forward far too often.

As for Aurier. He shouldn't play again for Spurs. Put anyone else there at right back: Sissoko, Dier, Foyth, Walker-Peters.
They are less than ideal but miles better than Aurier.

And finally go back to the formation that we play our best football. 4-2-3-1
I think Poch unhealthy obesession with playing Winks is causing us more problems as it has forced a switch to a 4-4-2 diamond or even a 4-3-3 which both of these formation doesnt work.

Ndombele is clearly our best midfielder. Pick the next best CM to play along side him. Dont try and force 3 CMs in the same lineup.

Poch has been incredible and its amazing that he may leave spurs empty handed just like arry.

He should have left last season after the final. He knew himself to achieve what he had last year again would be a miracle.

Poch deserves a more ambitious club and chairmen.
No time for jokes mate. How many remember when Poch first came here? I remember thinking he will do well with what we have and also thinking a lot of managers would do well with what we had. I loved watching his sides press the fuck out of the opposition, but also was curious to wonder what happens when the press doesn't work, because I could see that Poch was quite naive in his approach to the game. He never really had a plan B and there was never anything to really change a game in our favour. Imho it was the players that we had who were hungry and young who were making the real difference.

Harry Redknapp once famously said we will never have it this good (or word to that effect), but Harry's time here was really the start of the foundations that were starting to be built. Somehow though I have never rated Harry as a manager of a top club tbh and so it proved that he had his limits.

I have always felt that we were one very good manager away from being something more than just nearly men and Poch, for all his endeavour, his books and his ego never quite rose to the challenge. Getting to the final was a huge game of chance and good fortune, not tactical brilliance on Poch's part. He was merely a man steering a ship that wasn't aware of its destination.

I hope Poch takes the whole team on a pub crawl tonight. Get full and tell home truths, beat lumps oit of each other and then hug and make up over a kebab on way home. Turn up saturday and put 10 past Brighton. COYS.

Exactly. When did we last actually hire a manager who is a proven winner? I think Ramos was the last one but he didn’t speak English so was never going to work. Next appointment needs to be a top level manager who has experience of winning things.
at least we won a trophy with him
