It's a tough one but our last three seasons have been 2nd, 3rd, and 4th with a similar downturn in performances over that period so it's been a long term decline.

With the squad we have and the stadium I'd expect much more positivity from Poch but even I'm struggling with his general negativity.

I'd give him until December whilst sounding out Mourinho in terms of what he thinks he can do.
Not a great fan of his but we need to move for an elite manager as that's where we are now.

I dont know but you compare our 2015/16 to loserpool last year. We finished 2nd in the league and didnt strengthen the first team. Liverpool came 2nd in champions league went and spent over 200m. We definitely let the squad go stale. Not sure if thats Poch or Levys fault.

If poch is still up for it this season must be given. Its not Poch fault he left with 3 of our best players set to leave for free next year. They shouldn't be in the squad never mind starting 11. Poch is in a ridiculous situation.

You didn't see an improvement in our attacking football In Our last 3 league games compared to Newcastle, villa and the games last season?

Lol at everyone being sensationalist , like I'm on the talksport forum the last couple months .

Nearly a perfect away performance to a team that will likely turn over many of the other top 6 at their ground

For the record I don’t think we should fire Poch and maybe you’re right. Maybe attacking play has been marginally better.

The bigger questions remain. Can we start to win away games again? Can we close out games from a winning position? Will Poch persist with the diamond? Can Poch motivate our players? Have we lost our intensity under current mgmt?

For me, we’re have the 3rd best team in the league so we need the points and performance to match that. Anything short of that under delivering.

It’s depressing as you see Liverpool looking so fucking good.

City I couldn’t care else about but Liverpool for fucks sake. We were ahead of them for years.

At the end of the day Klopp has transformed them and sad to say he’s doing a much better job than Poch is. I really don’t see much difference between their starting 11 and ours. Yes they do have players playing at a higher level form wise and better fullbacks and VVD but it’s more than that. Klopp has made an incredibly well oiled machine yet here at spurs we don’t look well oiled at all. Klopp has players playing to their maximum and Poch doesn’t here at Spurs. And why do we have so many unsettled players? I’m not even just talking about ones with contracts finishing. Aurier and Rose want to leave. Wanyama told he has no future. Moura seems to be mismanaged by Poch too if you ask me. What happened to Alli? He’s been mostly useless for nearly two years now.

Ultimately we have fallen short under Poch despite regular top 4 finishes. It was good but never quite good enough. I don’t see why after 5 years of no trophies we now are told we have to be rebuilt and have more transition seasons.

If you think Kane will hang around for that you’re mistaken.

Just a few quick approx figures for you before you throw another one if your autographed pochettino 2 by 4s on the fire.

Before this summer window

Klopp in his time at pool has spent
£400 million on players
With a net of £70 million

Poch has spent £255 million
With a net of 30 million
And he he's been on the job longer

We finally spent a little something this summer but as we all no all of them are injured/ not fit/not integrated

So I wouldn't lay all the blame on the manager for Liverpool overtaking us. We spent very little to nothing for a good 2 years, Just remember that at the weekend when your sipping a beer in our billion pound plus stadium

It’s a very difficult decision for Poch to make about Eriksen. Against Villa we would have lost without him. He played pretty well against Arsenal. Maybe should have started against Newcastle. Otherwise poor. For the past 5 years he has been almost irreplaceable in midfield. The man brought in to possibly replace him has a long term injury. It’s a dilemma. Ndombele is clearly taking time to adjust. Personally I’d start with Eriksen but haul him off at half time if he has one of his low intensity days. Lamela is an effective 45 minute player.

Choosing Wanyama is bizarre as is the lack of minutes for Dele. But I’m not amongst those who think Dier is the answer to our defensive midfield issues. He’s a central defender if anything. Better than Wanyama yes but I’d rather see Skipp come on than either Dier or Wanyama or Sissoko.

At the back Vertonghen , Alderweireld and Rose are shadows of what they were . Is that down to Poch too ? For the sake of balance Sanchez and Vertonghen are a better fit than our other combinations. They did pretty well together a couple of seasons ago.

Personally I’d like to see

Lloris

Aurier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies

Winks Ndombele

Dele Eriksen Son

Kane

Gazza Alderweireld Rose Skipp Sissoko Lamela Moura

Yeah 6 games in and realistically top 4 is all there is to aim at....even that looks to be a struggle.
We look further away from winning anything than we have in years.

At least next year we'll be able to use the 'tired' excuse because of the Euros.

why will we?

Toby, and Eriksen won't be with us, no guarantee they will be replaced with a European player. Rose might be gone and if Poch gets Sess sorted in that position, and Wales fail Davies won't be playing. at the moment Dier won't make the squad, and Alli might not play much if he does

Gazzaniga, Foyth, KWP, GLC, Lamela, and Son.

our best team prior to the world cup, didn't play together as much after

Lloris - France played in the WC (played 36 PL, 7 CL, 2017/18, played 33 PL, 11 CL, 2018/19 total = 87 matches)

Trippier - England " " " ". (played 27 PL, 3 CL, 2 EFL, 6 FA Cup 2017/18, played 24 PL, 8 CL, 2 EFL, 1 FA Cup 2018/19 total = 73 matches)

Toby - Belgium " " " " (played 14 PL, 4 CL, 1 EFL, 2 FA Cup 2017/18, played 34 PL, 12 CL, 4 EFL, 2018/19 total = 71 matches)

Jan - Belgium " " " " (played 36 PL, 6 CL, 1 EFL, 4 FA Cup 2017/18, played 22 PL, 10 CL, 1 EFL, 1 FA Cup 2018/19 total = 81 matches)

Rose - England " " " " (played 10 PL, 3 CL, 1 EFL, 3 FA Cup 2017/18, played 26 PL, 8 CL, 3 EFL, 2018/19 total = 54 matches)

Dier - England " " " " (played 34 PL, 7 CL, 2 EFL, 4 FA Cup 2017/18, played 20 PL, 6 CL, 1 EFL, 1 FA Cup 2018/19 total = 75 matches)

Dembélé - represented Belgium (played 28 PL, 6 CL, 2 EFL, 4 FA Cup 2017/18, played 10 PL, 2 CL, 1 EFL, 2018/19 total = 53 matches)

Son - - South Korea played in the WC the Asia Cup, and Asia games, also played in the pre season tournament (played 37 PL, 7 CL, 2 EFL, 7 FA Cup 2017/18, played 31 PL, 12 CL, 4 EFL, 1 FA Cup 2018/19 total = 101 matches)

Alli - England played in the WC (played 36 PL, 5 CL, 2 EFL, 7 FA Cup 2017/18, played 25 PL, 8 CL, 4 EFL, 1 FA Cup 2018/19 total = 87 matches))

Eriksen - Denmark " " " ", also played in the pre season tournament (played 37 PL, 6 CL, 1 EFL, 3 FA Cup 2017/18, played 35 PL, 12 CL, 4 EFL, 2018/19 total = 98 matches)

Kane - England " " " " (played 37 PL, 7 CL, 4 FA Cup 2017/18, played 28 PL, 9 CL, 2 EFL, 1 FA Cup 2018/19 total = 88 matches)

subs
Sanchez - Columbia " " " ", also played in the pre season tournament (played 31 PL, 8 CL, 2 FA Cup 2017/18, played 23 PL, 8 CL, 4 EFL, 2 FA Cup 2018/19 total = 78 matches)

the above doesn't include matches played for their countries in both seasons and including the WC itself. next season I don't expect 3-4 players to be here that might play in the Euro's

I’m going to give Poch my support until the end of the season no matter what. Loved the man for too long to cast him aside like some have. But playing Victor Wanyama the other day is the kind of thing that defeats all logic, but worse seems to contradict Poch’s own statements about a new direction. Really wound me up, because we would probably have won the game by keeping Wanyama on the bench.

Yes the mentality is weak but ultimately football is about playing a good team of footballers, and Poch keeps playing shit ones.

Mirror reporting Perez/ Madrid will make a fresh approach for Poch if Zidane gets the sack, which is looking increasingly likely.

Right on cue. Really wish he'd stop saying this kinda shit - Redknapp didn't get away with it for long.

This is beyond tiresome now and not helpful considering our current form. Would not be tolerated at Liverpool for example.
