Good thing is I can't see many clubs wanting to haggle with levy about buying poch. Levy knows his manager is in hot demand and will put a hefty transfer tag on him.

Not sure this made it in here from hertyid on coys:

After talking to him today, and from what I know of him through others at the club, I would be hugely surprised if he walked away this summer.

He is just sending a message to DL - first project is done, we are consistent top four team and have made a CL final. We are a top European club now. But if we want to stay there and truly compete then we need to spend.

Liverpool last summer is the perfect example. Two glaring gaps, they went out and spent 130m and fixed them, and look what they achieved this year. DL needs to back Poch and do the same. Otherwise I can see MP leaving in summer 2020

This from the outside looks the most logical, the problem Levy has is that Liverpool have provided such a iron clad example that if Levy doesn't back Poch then I can see Poch taking that as Levy not trusting him to achieve what Liverpool have and wanting to leave.

seems unlikely to me he's leaving if we are actively trying to buy Ndombele and Lo Celso for big money, which we are.

Problem is, he’s worth the hefty price tag and there are many a club who would be prepared to pay it. Back Poch as he fully deserves or he’ll leave and we lose the opportunity for a generation of Spurs supporters. The guy is magic. And we know it, as do many others.

It's unlikely that Poch won't give Levy a chance to spend some monies and bring in the required quality.

No way Poch leaves this summer.

20/21 may be different, but for this season Poch potentially has a lot to look forward to.

The game was played at pre season friendly pace because it was 30C and was 3 weeks after the last competitive game for both sides

Agree with this but could not the players have gone to Madrid (or that area) for the past three weeks and train at 1900-2200 daily, getting use to the heat and the training.
Families could go and get a three week holiday.
Just a thought.

why do these go called pundits wheel out the same old crap time after time

Danny Mills has claimed Tottenham are holding back on finalising any new signings due to uncertainty over Mauricio Pochettino’s future.

https://www.footballinsider247.com/...nham-are-holding-back-on-finalising-signings/

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former England defender Mills suggested potential signings will hold off on putting pen to paper while Pochettino’s situation is unclear, and the club will also be reluctant.

“Of course, all transfers will be up in the air,” he explained. “Players want to sign because they want to play for Pochettino. If they are unsure if he is still the manager, a lot of players won’t sign.

“Tottenham will not pay the wages of the elite clubs. It will matter massively who the manager and coaching staff is.

“From the club’s point of view, the targets may be players Pochettino wants, so they might wait on pushing deals through at the moment.”

Danny Mills :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Exactly...gets on my nerves how the likes of Danny Mills or Craig Burley can claim they know exactly what the fuck is going on at our club! I know ‘pundits’ often state it’s their opinion but when they say it as fact it really boils my piss!

It’s amazing they are given airtime. It’s complete nonsense. They must be so thick.

Madrid was no way near that hot on the days leading up to the game. The game came on the first day of a hot snap that has now already finished. No way to prepare for the heat in Madrid.

Spurs finish outside the top 6 .... Spurs could lose their manager.
Spurs need to finish top four to keep their best players.... Spurs FINISH top four again, players will want to leave to win trophies.
Spurs get to the final of the CL.... Manager might now leave. Players want to leave to win trophies.
Spurs do the double.... Players want to leave as they have achieved everything they can at Spurs.

Only at Spurs :cautious:

Posted this in another thread but cannot now delete so I'll put bits of it here where I originally intended. With reference to the recent Eriksen press statement....

“I have the deepest respect for everything that is happening at Tottenham and it would not be something negative to stay. But I have also said that I would like to try something new."

In my opinion every one of our players who feels they can do better elsewhere or wants to try something new and no longer wishes to play for the team unless they really 'have to' should knock on Poch's door and tell him now how they feel, while the transfer window is open. Don't want anybody still here in the team who feels that way when the new season starts !
It's not enough that you wear the shirt....you have to want to with all your heart and soul and do so proudly....not because Spurs are some sort of last chance saloon if things don't work out as you planned....Grrrrrrrr !

There are many things a manager can 'ask' a player for but loyalty, respect and commitment should be three essential requirements in order to stay.
