People have pointed out that we're on the same position as Liverpool were last year.

I doubt we'll go as hard and as fast as they did in the market to address the gaps Klopp identified though.

This is the issue and perhaps we need to accept that Champs League qualification and going deep into cups is where our owners think we should aim for as opposed to other teams who are buy and are built with the expressed intention of winning things not just being competitive.

Possibly , but this is what Poch has specifically said is not his concept for the next 5 year plan , he wants to go to the top . This is the big issue now .

OK guys , I'm clearly more worried than you about the tailing off of our intensity in recent times . I'm sure we all hope things will be on the up next season .

But I was 'agreed' by an ITK when I posted that I reckoned Poch was freaked out by intensity loss and the large number of defeats this year . Again not solid evidence of course , but a worry for me about our club .

ITK also indicted that we're going to be stronger next season and paraphrasing this but very happy this summer as well.

I don't think anybody is under any illusion that this season was our best in terms of performances in matches, what I'd say is, if there was any time ever to give the club the benefit of the doubt, it's right now. This is not the time for concern, this summer we should all be very excited, I might even argue regardless of what happens in the window because we are heading into our first full season in our new home. If we are performing poorly next season, then yes be concerned but right now is the time for optimism.

I remember what that manager from Watford says about us a couple of seasons ago. He was in shock 'Tottenham... They were like animals, hunting for the ball'

Liverpool did that two us for approximately sixty seconds on Saturday night. That was all.

I want Poch Vintage back.

Do it, Levy.

That's what they said this time last year. Bring in a couple of players & maybe I'll start to believe them.

For once I wish the manager would just come out and say ‘I’m staying & very happy with my job’ as opposed to sitting on the fence all the time sending out mixed messages.

Klopp was asked last week about a reports linking him to Juve. His response left no room for this link to go any further by saying he’s staying using very fruitful language. End of link!

Didnt he say that in the Talksport interview.....

it’s Balague, he’s Paul Jiggins with an accent. When writing thee book maybe it was worth paying attention to him, now he’s just a sad little man trying to make himself stand seem important.

His only link with Pochettino was writing a book, which came out well over a year ago. I sincerely doubt they’ve done more than exchange the off text here and there. He’s trying to make his connection seem more than what it is.
I’m pretty sure their relationship goes beyond just writing that book. Balague is an Espanyol fan, and I’ve heard him speak about times he chatted to Pochettino 15-20 years ago.

Clearly that doesn’t necessarily mean he knows everything about Poch, but he’s definitely closer than just a guy who wrote his book for a year.

Do you know this or are you guessing?

OK , as I said Poch's approach has been 'Wonderfully successful' its not an attack on an outstanding coach . But has 2019 Spurs form ( bar CL 'miracles') not given you the slightest concern about the club's direction ?

you seem to forget we have suffered an injury crisis most of the season that's taken it's toll. Poch can only put out his best XI, but there has been times that strongest XI have been carrying knocks. we got to the semi finals of the CoC, and were only 5 games short of playing the entire amount of matches possible, with a squad that half of them had no preseason, no break from last season. that would take it's toll physically and mentally on any squad, that doesn't have the depth.

both Man City and Liverpool never suffered anywhere near our injuries, and Liverpool only had 3 players reach the final weekend of the cup, 2 of those never played in the WC, 1 of them has only played 2 games this season

I bumped into Poch this morning. He was genuinely down. I only thanked him for what he has achieved in the last 5 years so no random ITK but a total gentleman and he feels it as much as any fan. He is a romantic and loves the club I think. we are lucky to have such a great human being in charge of our club
Next time you see him, tell him I love him.

Skimming through this thread just now and I think I'm going to step off SC for the summer. We have just played in our first ever European Cup semi final and the pure negativity and worry re Poch IMO is well over the top. Give the guy a day or two to get over last night for Christ sake. Poch said all along the chat about the next project would be after yesterday. Poch says what he does in the media to screw with them because he knows they'll twist it and link him with every other club anyway.

We haven't even had a full season in the new stadium and a summer with the extra revenue in place. How about waiting and seeing before lambasting the chairman who has overseen this five year project including new training ground and new stadium? Think a lot of our fans need some perspective.
Don't leave easley - we need as much rationality as we can get on these pages.

You'd be surprised mate. They are a lot closer than that. What he writes is not just opinion. He will have been fed that information.

I agree, the fact he doesn't would suggest:

1) He genuinely doesn't know
2) He does want to stay but wants to leverage against Levy

We will soon find out.

I'm going off the premise that an ITK agreed with his Gilzeanking's post about Poch being freaked out by the loss in intensity and painting a negative picture, my point is that you can easily paint a positive picture via the same sources and info available not that you should necessarily take their word as gospel, it works both ways.

Yes this is all true , but the form slump isn't a positive , tho there are exceptional circumstances for it .
