I do not doubt that Pochettino would like the transfer summer plans to be grand, thorough and active. If he can find anybody else among the decision makers to agree with him is a different matter. When that's done, there is the perpetual question of seriously lacklustre scouting.

It was absolutely unambiguous wasn't it, I can't help thinking that now we've got the new stadium the sense at the club is that the next step is to address the squad, this summer could actually be eventful.

It is, there's no doubt about that but I have to believe if you know that and I know that Daniel Levy must know that too.

IMO, Poch is referring to the great relationships and friendships he has built up with certain players, who he is now going to move on as they arent good enough for the next level. That is what is going to be painful.

This is how I took it, which is the correct thing to do if he wants to push the club further.

We got a couple of freebies when Madrid and United decided to appoint new managers rather than wait to pursue Poch in the summer. Don't waste them. Use this opportunity to back him to the fullest and rejuvenate a team and a squad that's obviously talented but clearly not quite there yet, clearly lacking something.

That said, Poch needs to change too. If the board do decide to back him, as they should, then he has to abandon an element of the sentiment that can hold him and us back at times.
