I have seen the PA embargoed stuff for tomorrow's papers. Let's just say it makes for very good reading for us Spurs fans where Pochettino is concerned. He's going nowhere from what I can ascertain. His quotes from the print presser will be available from10.30 tonight.

I do not understand how he can have said something totally different to what is widely being reported on the Internet.

He's also been quoted as saying he wants to win the PL and the CL with THFC.
But if that doesn't fir the narrative then ignore it and just go for the headlines and quotes you feel do.
This isn't aimed at any one in particular.

Of course he does, but he's saying Baldy needs to change his scrimping ways to get there.

There are two press conferences. One for broadcast, one for print. I'm talking about the latter which is embargoed until 10.30pm tonight.

I appreciate that, but the story coming our of both is usually the same. Did he say something totally different in the latter?

Poch aint sticking around in the summer, he has come out twice now and told Levy he needs to change the ways.
Yes he has also said he wants to win titles with spurs but if man utd come knocking in the summer, he goes.

The written press normally get a more in-depth meeting.

I guess he’s talking more about the future than he did to the video press

I still feel the Utd post would be a year (at least) too soon for him. He has worked hard for four years and wants to be a legend here. Succeeding at Tottenham will enhance his CV more than an 'easy' move to Utd. If he wants to be considered a great manager, he needs to prove it. Why throw it all away now, when he's so close?

Yes. And the scenario you outline is not always the case.

Yeah this is absolutely right.

If you watch any of these press conferences on YouTube our Press Officer always starts by stating the 'Daily's Briefing, which is embargoed until 10:30 tonight" and then, at the end of the video, you hear him say 'ok, cameras off now please".

The rag journos then get an extra session with the manager, which is why you often get different quotes coming out late in the evening after the embargo is lifted. This is almost always when the most interesting stuff comes out, as I guess the journos still need to sell a paper so hold back / get a bit more out of the manager in that session.

Anyway, glad to hear he's said something positive!! Will bash F5 on Twitter at 10:30 tonight! :)

I take it these comments are available to all media outlets?...that'll piss most of them off.
I presume you work in the media mate?

Yes. One of the minor benefits is getting to read stories like these before everyone else. Even that's starting to change, these days, though. At one time, the quotes would not have been available until the next morning when punters picked up their papers.

The funny thing is Sky were/are running a headline which says "Time To Say Goodbye?" in relation to Pochettino's quotes.

Poch is only saying what he said last May and what all season ticket holders should also be saying. This notion we don’t have the finances to compete with all bar the 2 Manchester teams and Chelsea is just rubbish. Enough of ENIC’s nonsense and enough of the BSoDL.

Forgive my ignorance here, but what is the point in one set of comments being embargoed?
What purpose does it serve when its only for a few hours?
