The only real defence of our transfer window so far is barring Liverpool and Arsenal is the lack of spending by the other top 6 clubs also the lack of movement out of players from those clubs. Much like us I can’t recall any of the top six really having sold any players this window barring a couple of squad players from Liverpool. This is obviously causing a stagnation in the market. Pretty sure they all have players they want to move on so they can bring new players into their squads. It could be a case of who blinks first to get the window moving. Said it before the premier league clubs who voted to close the transfer window early are really to blame for this rediculous situation.
I see the closing of the window early as a good thing especially for us. Levy loves a game of who will blink first because he has no eyelids. This means that sometimes we have missed out because other clubs haven't had enough time to get a replacement in (levy running round europe with a wheelbarrow full of cash?). Now all the european clubs will know that their main chance of getting big money for their players ends next thursday. If they sell by then they will still have plenty of time to buy players. Yes we may lose some money on outgoings if we have too many players. But last year we were able to get £6m loan deal for janssen after our window closed.
Think next week will be a bit crazy.
