Having read that article Poch seems to think that the problems only started recently.

I mean how does he explain from last February. No one in the media is putting that to him because of reaching the CL final.

But it's precisely the whole context in which it should be looked at.

The recent humiliations were threatening to happen before, like City away etc.

Some fans were backing Pochettino a few weeks back because we were going to get 9 points from Southampton, Brighton and Watford. Now, what is the next point of possible redemption, with Liverpool away looming?

Sat watching Watford I was struggling to find positives for the first time in a long time! There just didn’t seem to be any ideas or leadership.

It’s obvious something isn’t right.

If we were losing games but playing the attacking football we love I could live with this until Poch can remould the team in January. Trouble is the football is terrible and so are the results

We've relied massively on Christian Eriksen for our creativity for years, and for the last 12 months he's inconveniently disappeared up his own arse.

What are you going on about.
Loads of quotes, and all from Poch himself at his press conference today
It says “the atmosphere behind the scenes is terrible”...it might be splitting hairs but “ the atmosphere is down” is not the “atmosphere is terrible “...the teams on a bad run so I wouldn’t expect the atmosphere to be jovial but neither does it mean it’s terrible...

can see lots of quotes on having to work hard, lacking confidence, results needing to improve but nothing says “the atmosphere is terrible”...

Somehow these quotes before Watford match escaped me. Oh-oh.
"When you receive a text from the player inviting you and the coaching staff for a dinner only two things can happen.

"[It's] because they want to say goodbye. Or because they feel that they love you and they want to show that they are with you. And I think it's the second."

If Poch goes to Utd and turns their fortunes around, the only thing that proves to me is what a selfish bunch of wankers our players have been for the past year. If he's as shit a manager as so many on here would have us believe we should be pushing him up the M1 as fast as we can. In the meantime, the prospect of Mourinho makes me want to puke. Say what you like about Poch but he's a decent bloke. Mourinho is pond life.
Its not like that at all. If he went somewhere else I'd totally expect him to do well. He's a motivator, and he's very good at making the players play above themselves. I think though that will only take you so far. My opinion is he's either run out of ways to make the players push themselves or he's lost motivation himself and so it's no longer transferring across. That's when you have to be tactically sound, or at least play to you're players strengths. Neither of which are happening and as such confidence is shot.

He persisted with the diamond for far too long and now instead of going back to basics, he's changing formation week in week out. It's Mike Basset football FFS. If we started with the Christmas pudding formation tomorrow night I honestly wouldn't be surprised.

Exactly! I know GLC looks to be a good creative player, but it is staggering to me that given our creative reliance on Eriksen for a good few years, we haven't sorted it. Such a visible issue it's almost negligent that we've let it get to this stage. Regardless of whose fault it is.

Now it's the fans fault apparently, we're not making it easy for the poor little lambs.

It does feel that way. It’s got to come down to him: the motivator can’t motivate either because he’s run out of ideas or he’s lost interest.

I work in multi facets of education, advising, lecturing, mentoring and teaching. I specialise in behavioural management and motivation and one of the things I’ve definitely learnt is that it’s far easier influencing and motivating a group new to you- providing you have the skills. I have no doubt Poch will be very successful for the first few years of his next job until the excitement and energy becomes staid and commonplace.

Motivation is a powerful tool but in a demanding, ever changing results based dynamic, insightful, productive strategies always trump charisma alone

Weird he’s saying expectations have changed, victim of own success etc

I really disagree. Our expectation is to challenge for top 4. Under a really good manager sure maybe we could challenge city and Liverpool but I really don’t think that’s unrealistic or unfair to expect this squad to be finishing third.

He is talking about recent form being poor but it’s been going on for far longer. Nobody is asking him about it though which is bizarre. He should be challenged on it, but I’m sure he will use excuses like stadium move affecting the team but we know that’s rubbish.

He does sound like a man who is out of ideas. I really do respect and admire Poch as a man despite his flaws but I just don’t think he is as good a manager as others think.

He has never struck me as a winner and unfortunately his tenure will he looked back on as opportunity wasted, so near yet so far. It will be tragic Poch never won something with this squad.

Can someone tell me when the confidence buidling programme is likely to start that he keeps harping on about??

As apart from the Palace game and 30 mins against Arsenal we have been garbage all season in the league which actually dates back to last February. Its like he is using the Munich game as an excuse to try and cover up the utter crap that has been served to us for the prior 9 months.

Now I really want to see the Christmas Pudding formation. I am guessing it's a very stodgy, heavy formation leading to no energy and a desire to take a nap. So maybe we have been playing it all season without even knowing that was what it was called.
