Have you never seen someone at work get flustered or make mistakes when someone is applying pressure on them or standing over their shoulder watching them work?

Now magnify that by 30 thousand, throw in some boos, and groans when they don't do something really good, and then if they do something bad add a sprinkling of abuse on top.

It becomes very hard to do even the simple things let alone tricks, flicks, through balls and bits of flair.

Some players maybe able to play or even thrive under that pressure, but they are in the minority. And even if they do play well it almost always drives a wedge between the players and fans.

I don't have a single ounce of sympathy for them. They get paid MILLIONS to do a job, albeit high pressured, and someone breathing down their necks. It's part of the job and what they signed up for. If you are a PROFESSIONAL footballer and can't deal with the rough then you're going to fail.

Toby came out this weekend and actually said the team tried 'everything' to win on Saturday. Utter bullshit.

Now that GLC & Sess are on the verge of being fit enough to play with the first team squad, I’m inclined to give Poch a bit more time, probably until after the Everton game to see how it pans out.

Notwithstanding that, Poch needs (in his own words), to be brave and drop the underperforming players that will not be here beyond the summer. Give more playing time to our academy players like Skipp, Parrott & Tanganga.

How long they got

I only caught a couple of minutes of it but carragher was spouting the end of cycle rhetoric. All I could take from the bit I saw was the players have dropped off effort and motivation from over a year ago. But we all knew that.

Some seem to think we're putting them under too much pressure...

That's not the issue though.

Most fans can live with a lack of quality and flare, but what's not acceptable is a lack of effort, or not giving their all.

It's plain to see this is not just about a lack of confidence, it's about doing the fundamentals properly.

A lot them arn't putting in the hard yards, playing for one another... They're coasting, and that shouldn't be allowed to continue.

The point is it has been allowed to continue, inexplicably, and now more and more are questioning Poch for allowing it to continue.

I dont even care about results at the moment, I want to see some proper effort collectively.

That will take care of results anyway but it's not happening. Even after recent humiliations when a reaction should of been an absolute prerequisite it still didn't happen!

I think that's why so many are now starting to comprehend the reality of the situation.
I have echoed those points myself.

And it does feel as though they are hoping for a change rather than knuckle down (which ironically is what got this group of players to the star level they are at now)

But IF any turnaround is to happen the players still need confidence and faith that they aren't going to be jumped on for trying things that don't come off.

oh and Some of our players look like they are running in flares ATM but even with those on they should still be capable of a bit of flair ;)

I didn’t hear him say that. He mentioned about having houllier and Benitez as his manager for two 6 year periods each and that the players might just need a change.

Just because I loved Poch once, doesn't me I will always love him. I'm not Whitney fucking Houston.
Just as well because:
a) she’s dead and that would make you an absolute degenerate perv that even @bomberH would feel mildly uncomfortable with

or

b) you’re referring to Houston, the sprawling Texan city. In which case, having to convince us you are actually called Whitney and are not currently in sexual congress with a metropolis is also alarming

They are coasting through the games like they are coasting through their contracts

This has been allowed to happen and I’m still very much in the camp of the manager not being backed and here we are

Zero chance Poch can now turn it around because there is zero chance Levy backs him and will do what is needed by undoing all the mess he has created which will cost far too much money

So Poch has to go.....Why has Levy not got rid of him yet?

Sat watching Watford I was struggling to find positives for the first time in a long time! There just didn’t seem to be any ideas or leadership.

It’s obvious something isn’t right.

If we were losing games but playing the attacking football we love I could live with this until Poch can remould the team in January. Trouble is the football is terrible and so are the results
