Sorry Kaye, all our play does go through him. He's the only one with any invention at the moment. The reason we aren't playing well has nothing to do with Berbatov, i'm not sure there are any games where Berbatov came off instead of Keane, of late Keane has been very poor. I think most Spurs fans are trying to play down Berbatov's importance, so they will not feel so upset if he leaves. I on the other hand know how important he is, and I don't believe he will leave. Ramos and Poyet want to build the team around him, and it wouldn't surprise me for them to convince him to stay.

Worked out the fault in your logic yet?

You can't have it both ways. If all our play goes through him, then if we aren't playing well, then it's his responsibility.

From where I've been watching, all our play does not go through Berbatov. There are some moves in which he plays a major role, and he is undoubtedly a class act, but there are many good Tottenham moves where his involvement is limited to throwing his hands in the air because he hasn't been given a pass, usually because he hasn't been available until the move has broken down. Hard work is hardly his forte, whereas a lot of the good moves he is involved in, also involve the intelligent and ceaseless hard work from Keane, who, let it be said, also has his faults, neither of them being ruthless finishers (Please don't anyone mention the dear departed. He wasn't/isn't a ruthless enough finisher either).

Berbatov is undoubtedly important to Tottenham, but is not irreplaceable. If he wants to be part of Tottenham's progression, he will sign an extended contract. If not he will be moved on, and the money received will go towards strengthening the team.

HUggyBear I just find it bizarre that you could call Zoko a ineffective waste of space! I have no idea what people if that opinion are seeing but it's definately different to what I see!

That might be a tad harsh as I think he would be a completely different player in a 5 man midfield but since we dont play that he is ineffective and as such a waste of space. A defensive midfielder who can only play in one type of midfield is too limited for what we paid for him. Also, my comments towards him are influenced by watching the performances of players in a similar role in spanish, italian and portuguese leagues. I'm sure if i watched German and dutch footy more often then I would be even more critical of him.

No other player in the shirt drives me mad as much as he does, and now that we have signed a world class creative midfielder we need to follow that up with a DM of similar quality

I'm so undecided about him.

Guess we'll have to let Ramos be the judge and have the final say.

DC better keep his nose out then! 2 seasons is long enough to have proved yourself at his age (if that is his real age) and if we want to challenge for a top 4 place then our first XI should be at least good enough to play for the worst top 4 team and Zoko wouldn't get in any teams in the top half of the table.

The reason we aren't playing well, is the midfield should be creating for him. The fact that he's the only creating is bad. None of the mdfield have that spark or invention to find a killer pass, thats why.

Still think people are going way over the top about Berbartov's influence on the team. Yes his a fine player etc but other players like Huddlestone Keane and Lennon are imo as creative as Berba.... in fact I'm a bit disappointed with Berbatov not being more clinical in front of goal.
