Yeah, I've been out most weekends, it's been grim, but better than being dragged to HomeBase/B&Q ;)

Our course has had a beating, so wet everywhere. Greens have barely recovered since their winter maintenance. There's definitely been a few 'why the fuck am I out here?' moments.

I've got an iron fitting on 1st of March so trying to at least keep the swing sharpish so I can go into that moving half-decent.
What are you looking at? I went for a fitting at PXG in December with the aim of getting specs and then finding something cheaper at somewhere like AG in the sales...2 weeks later i had a shiny new set of Gen5 irons (and a 4 Hybrid) under the Xmas tree at double the cost of what i'd planned to spend. Safe to say i was in the dog house with the wife! 😂

I've managed a few rounds with them, and coupled with a swing change to shallow the club a bit i'm seeing some big improvements. They are a joy to hit and beautiful to look at! Definitely recommend giving them consideration!

Because I'm left handed I have to travel; going 2 hours away to Bristol/Chippenham and seeing Taylormade/Titleist, Ping/Srixon, then PXG all in the same day.

I'm fairly open to options, currently in Ping G410 shovels that weren't fitted for me (eBay guess!), so would like to look down at something a tad smaller but still get a bit of help. P790/T200/ZX5/PXG Gen6 are all on the table; see what comes out on top (y)

I have heard PXG fittings are 2nd to none.

Yeah the fittings are really good and the guys there aren't pushy at all. They didn't even try to give me the hard sell and fitted me in the best they could for my budget. I tried a few other sets including the ZX4, Stealths and P790 but I loved the feel and look of the Gen 5s and I don't have a single regret for shelling out for them. Also have a Gen4 driver and am becoming a bit of a PXG fan boy...I won't however be buying any of their clothing as it's really expensive in comparison to other manufacturers.

Good luck with the fittings, let us know what you plump for!

Busy day yesterday; tried TM P790, Srixon ZX5 ii, Titleist T200, Ping i525 and PXG Gen6P & 0317T

Was close between Srixon and the 2 x PXG's; nothing else came close.

Ended up with PXG Gen6P 7iron to PW, 1/2 inch longer, 2 degrees weaker, KBS Max graphite shafts. Replaced 6 iron with Gen6 XF 28 degree hybrid (absolute wand!). Outstanding fitting (y)

Awesome display by Matsuyama at Riviera. Down by 6 going into the final round, wins by 3. Three straight birdies on par 4-3-5 15 16 and 17 holes with putts of 8 and 6 INCHES on 15 and 16.

When he completes his follow-through in utter disgust thinking he's hit a horror shot...and it stops 9 inches from the hole; vintage Hideki :ROFLMAO:

Have you had a hit with them yet?

Was thinking of getting a PXG fitting for a new driver if anything significantly outperforms my 25 year old Ping driver….

……. I tried the new Stealth Taylormade at Silvermere and it went 7 yards further but for £600 I think I can survive a bit longer!!

Nah they’re being built, shouldn’t be long.
Can’t recommend PXG fittings highly enough. I hit some heads at an American Golf on the way to Chippenham and the fitting experiences were chalk and cheese, AG seemed light years behind in terms of tech, explanations, detail, etc.

I’d be shocked if any fitter cant get you to pick up more than 7 yards over a 20 year old driver, there’ll be 12-15 yards there minimum

What an absolute dickhead - “I’ve been playing golf for over 20 years” Yeah, but like a **** mate, in comparison
Nailed on he's a 12 handicapper or something. There was no difference between the 2 swings either and both buttoned down the middle.

Wait till his wife recognises his voice as well. What made you look at her swing I wonder 🤔

I'd have been a bit pissed off with him as a playing partner to be honest. The lack of care, I understand hes 4 over and going to miss the cut, but that's delayed me and disrupted me getting prepared to hit my putt with a poor attitude, when I could have something to play for.

I've had it in my time playing golf where someone in the group is playing crap and they're care free, no consideration given to anyone else.

Yeah agreed, brings the whole mood of the group down when one person has a shit attitude. It's meant to be a hobby; if you don't wanna be here, piss off home.

Oh my word, Speith has just moved up a few rows on my plane of death after that nonsense with McIlroy on the 7th, what a grade A weapon he is!
