Thanks WLB!! Why are we letting Sanchez talk to a club if we are seemingly not replacing him?? We would be even more screwed without our only cb backup who actually has any pace

Haha, it sounds like the PR gang have been briefed ! 😂 But here's the latest: The deal for Gallagher is officially off; we've stepped away from the table. Pierre turned down Fulham's 30 million offer this morning. Atletico made a loan offer, but it wasn't reasonable, with just a 2 million loan fee and a 15 million purchase option - not happening. Sanchez is currently in talks with a club, and there's still a chance that could go through, but we'd need a replacement. Unfortunately, the Kelly deal fell through because Bournemouth isn't keen on late-window dealings off finding a replacement .

I hope you've all enjoyed my updates as they came in through this window and today . I apologise that we couldn't secure what we needed in some areas, but hopefully, Ange can work with this squad until January. Thanks for following along!

WLB 😘
Absolute legend, the amount of updates you've given is unreal. Top work 👏🏼

not the clear out we needed, not all the players in we wanted, a few bits of deadwood temporarily kicked down the road to deal with next summer, sold our best ever player, BUT the buys we have managed to get done are all excellent signings imo, mixed bag hamstrung by the same old problems at the end, big thanks for all the updates and insight as always

I'm sure we'll pull the plug on Sanchez deal if we can't get anyone in. He'll stay as we won't bring anyone in now.

(IMHO it’d be morally wrong to cancel Diers contract..he deserves more respect than that … )
if we only sign BJ today it’ll have to do… but like any TW addict, I’ll be scrolling at midnight in the hope that an obscure signing has been made. @Trix; @Hercules; @What Lies Beneath; @Hotspur88; & @rebrab; plus @Breezer; @Grey Fox - and a nod to @dovahkiin & @THFCSPURS19 … thanks. Naturally the mods etc -I’ve enjoyed this new chapter. Much more positive than previous windows. Oh, and a spezial mention to @The Goat … without whom itk could not be (subtlety) shared

In all fairness, it would be nice if folks could wait to vent their spleen until after the window is officially closed, as it gums up this thread with pages of vitriolic spew we've heard a zillion times before.

Too many are frothing at the mouth over hypothetical situations that haven't been remotely confirmed in the press. Let's try to hold fire, before going full pitchfork brigade.
Fairness to whom?

Thanks for your sterling work!

I know we're not meant to ask itk's questions... But what does lie beneath?

Thanks for the info. Hojbjerg has two years left on his contract, so if 15m was the most anyone was willing to pay as an option for next summer, surely we take that, get his wages off this year's bill and free up a squad space. We aren't getting more than that next summer, and it'll cost us getting a top target in Gallagher.

I don't see the sense in holding onto a player who has no real practical value to us given he won't be playing much this season. Maybe I'm missing something.

Most likely we would only pony up the money for Gallagher if we got decent money for PEH, it clearly wasn't an all in target for DL.

Annoying the Tosin swap with Sanchez isn't happening. I thought that one could make sense all round.

Selling Sanchez now would be negligent beyond belief
