If the prices being quoted for Johnson and Gallagher feel expensive, take a look at Burnley buy Maatsen from Chelsea for £31.5m. Never played in the PL.

£100m the new £75m
£50m the new £30m
£30m the new £15m
etc etc

Things ain't the same

Honestly would rather see him go abroad. I think he’d strengthen UTD so I’d rather not. Despite his criticism, he has proven to be a capable player at times and calmed things down well against Bournemouth last week. Good luck to him but abroad please.

Sure, but he's got far less experience and pedigree, and yet £31.5m

Yeah but experience and pedigree aren't of the same value as assurances that he works well with your manager, players, infrastructure. I appreciate your point, if football was done on universal values of quality but it's more specific to the buyer in this market. I think that the value to clubs this summer, appears to be certainty and you can't get much more certain than having them play for you last season.

Not sure if it’s a question for this thread but have we given up on signing an out and out striker as Richy competition (Orban/Vlahovic style)

Gallagher has now played 100 PL games for 3 clubs with 13 PL goals scored from CM. Any deal within 50m for him is a good one.
As for as Maatsen -As per Kompany, he was their most important player in their system that made them breeze Championship - so I can see why Burnely desperately looking to bring him in.

I thought the ITK was lining up to be CB (Tosin/Lloyd) and a FW (Johnson). Surprised that it's gone quiet there, but it could also indicate Sanchez and Dier aren't moving.

I’m aligned with you, I’d be keen on them both going but I guess the good news is that they have a year left on their contract so they’ll be gone next year regardless. And Davinson seems to be as good a backup as we’re being linked to today anyway.

Some good points there but there’s been hundreds of players unable to make the step up from championship to pl

Shows how important loans are to young player values. We really need to step this up. Chelsea have a never ending stream of talent being loaned around the world gathering experience and, more importantly, transfer value

Crazy day so far ! As I said before it broke in the main stream atletico and Tottenham now working towards a loan with an obligation currently they’re not close to an agreement but it’s being worked on . All parties confident in galllagher deal till the deadline to complete it once Pierre goes .

will keep updating as and when I get news COYS

He won’t be going United, they’ve got Amrabat

Veliz 13
Vic 17
Phillips 2
Maddison 40
Kulu 30
Bissouma 26
Udogie 16
Solomon 0
Sarr 14

That's almost a whole team for about 150.

Some parts of the market are inflated. But there are still good value deals to be done.

I don't mind the odd overspend like BJ as long as we focus on being smart with most of our dealings, as we were with the signings above.

Big thanks to the ITK today - amazing work.

Yeah I agree but I'm assuming they know something I don't that makes that not a concern for them. I appreciate that the cost of Gallagher also carries with it certain assurances, he's performed how he has for 2 prem clubs. Plus he is homegrown, which adds to the value. I'm of the opinion that the prices we're seeing this season are absolutely ridiculous and it was the Caicedo one that really did me in. I have presumed that his cost was down to the certainty of his ability in the prem, plus age and role. I would prefer a model of risk than paying these absurd prices, such as we did with Vicario over Raya. I wouldn't have said that before seeing Vicario in goal for us though
