We might want to keep it secret even if he is unemployed/has permission to speak to us though..

Wasn't there a talk of Rfa Benitez being in England? I am sure I read it in a rumour thread that his agent said he was in England or something like that... Running to the bookies to put a fiver on Rafa.

Well, he does live here!

I have to admit, my first thought was it can't be Blanc, can't see as he would have any meeting about a job whilst at a tournament with France. Although potentially, and this is a big stretch, if he has already agreed???, maybe they were just confirming targets for the club to go out and secure, but I highly doubt that.

Incidentally, I wasn't sure about Blanc initially, but my mate, who is a die hard Utd fan, said that after Blanc left Old Trafford, Ferguson declared some of his younger players had learned more off Blanc in 18 months or so training with him then they had from the previous few years worth of club coaching, such was his knowledge of the game and ability to get it across. Kind of put him in a new light for me.

I hope it is not Benitez, I do accept potentially if he could reporoduce his Valencia success that would be good, but i just don't really see it.
Moyes, not so keen too. I know he has a record of beign astute, but I just hoped for a bit more than him.
Martinez, see above.
Blanc, this idea is growing on me massively. Only a couple of years club football, but proven success in the French league, and doing a good job with the national team, which given it is France goes some way to show he can handle big personalities/egos.
AVB, was my early favouirite, as he had some style and success with Porto, and I feel he would have a point to prove after the Chelsea episode.

My one slight concern is both blanc and AVB have only 3 or so years of club management behind them, but then if we are after a progressive young manager, as has been suggested, then having year upon year of experience is not realistic.

Don't wish to get myself banned (I'm on here so rarely these days), but isn't "secret meeting with a manager" pushing it a bit when it comes to classing information as ITK? My benchmark for this comment is how reasonable would the opposite be? For example, our politicians telling European leaders to sort out the crisis. The opposite - "don't sort out the crisis" is ludicrous. So with pre-season starting in - what? - three weeks, if we were NOT having meetings with managers we'd be in real trouble!

I'm just sayin'... ;)

Blanc would be good for us, doesn't take any shit too, I read last night that he suspended the entire world cup squad when he took over as France manager so he is someone who doesn't tolerate bad attitude or slacking.

Did anyone work out the Hall & Oates lyric? I can't think of a manager who looks like either of them.

Ugh. Anyone but Rafa. The guy went mad towards the end of his tenure at Liverpool. He couldn't handle the mindgames from Fergie and started talking rubbish in his media conferences. He also willingly sold Xabi Alonso. For that alone we shouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Maybe Spurs were doing their bit for world peace and were meeting with Al Qaeda 'manager' Ayman Al-Zawahiri?

I also liked that Blanc scrapped the all Halal meat rule at French dinners. Domenech implemented the rule so that everyone ate the same food. Naturally the majority had to give way for the religious minority in the group who would of course burn for an eternity in the depths of hell if they were caught eating incorrectly slaughtered meat.

it has to be a secret meeting if it is sensitive in some way which could mean Moyes, Deschamps or Blanc or other club manager but I wouldn't imagine AVB, Gardiola or Benitez as these would simply be "a meeting"
