Reluctant though I am to admit it, that Goat bleat fits the surrounding noise of this very well.
It would explain:

1. The massive acceleration in the 'he's going' stories that started a few weeks back
2. Andre's change of tack in press conferences from Hong Kong onwards
3. Bale's complete avoidance of any official Tottenham stuff and silence

I also think that if true, Levy has insisted on a near blanket silence, hence:

1. Marca shut up
2. Madrid's chairman and players shut up
3. ITK has been thin on the ground

It's a shame that LLM's credibility has been called into question recently as it undermines his stance on Bale too.
A lot of ITK appears to have been literally gambling on the outcome of this.

Catastrophic if true. We should have held on to Bale no matter what. We'll never see anything like him again at our club, think of the loss of stature and media exposure. Penny wise and Pound foolish, our boy Levy... :(

I'm sure this was said about Berba, Klinsman, Gazza, Modric..................you get my point (y)

If the deal has been struck weeks ago, surely Bale wouldn't be sulking as been reported.

Yeah, that doesn't quite fit does it? He should be bouncing about the place really happy. He could still evade any questions put to him about it. Can't see why he would sulk.

Can I cling to the notion that perhaps the deal is done but it's for NEXT season?

Millions of theories around but I don't buy that latest itk. Well not really.
Think about it- what is really gained by keeping the deal quiet? Do Roma agree to sell Lamela cheaper than they would if the Bale deal was announced? Nah. If some itk in Enfield knows about it then you can bet that directors of football across Europe know about it being done too.

i don't buy that theory for a second.
No-one benefits from it

If Bale went and we got in either Lamela or Willian I would be very happy with our transfer dealings this window but annoyingly it'll be yet another transition season where we're trying to bed in several new first teamers and develop an understanding with each other and everyone else, so I think there's a chance we won't do as well as we did last year.

Look if other players we have been linked with are deals that we can pull of in the next 2 weeks then our forward line could be
willian - soldier - Lamela

That is an awesome front 3 and would leave us with a backup of Chadli - ade/Defoe - Lennon

Can't complain if that's where we end up as overall I think we would collectively be a stronger team

The "oh well" crew are out.in bigger numbers than ever tonight. Life's coulda shoulda woulda brigade. Embarrassing.

The more negative news itk that comes out about Bale, the more disgust and resentment I have for our board and their.some aim to fleece our great club for the maximum profit.

Football means nothing to them.

If this is true about Bale going, I think the ideal situation would be to tie up Lamela, Contraeo and whoever else but to not announce them until after Bale's gone. No matter now good this window has been, if the last movement is our star player leaving, it finishes on a sour note and also gives the media their chance to be negative about us, Levy, AVB etc. If we announce Bale leaving, let the football world & media have their fun for a couple of days then announce all these new signings, it'd finish on a high.

I know it doesn't matter in the whole scheme of things but that's how I'd like it to pan out.

Val's cryptic is obviously to say ' it's a shame that bale is going but RM have gone overboard with the bid and we had no choice but to accept.

Sorry if already been said.

Whatever the outcome then please get it done.

Just watched the BBC news about Egypt - that's serious shit. Probably get a spam rating from SM for that (as usual), but still, I'm used to it. an eye for an eye and all that.

I'm super looking forward to Sunday and am convinced by next weekend at home to Swansea we'll be even stronger. COYS

Edit - by the way, the fat lady hasn't sung yet although it was done weeks ago...o_O

I may be wrong but all the negativity on Bale seems to stem from an ambiguous post from valyid, the recent goat ITK and a confirmed WUM from SO. JJ still doesn't seem ready to commit 100% to the fact he is gone - although alluding to it. The time to accept he's probably on his way is when one of those in the camp that he's staying such as Grey Fox, Jasper, Mystery, WPD's Biatch etc do an about turn and join the "he's going" camp. That I think will be the time to truly realise he's off and new info has come to light. POTL is still very quiet too. Still too much conflict for my liking.

It's that sitch you may have been in.

Reports from mates of mates, that the bird you've been going out with has been cheating on you.

You're not sure until one of your close mates tells you.

You only believe when you come home, and find her in bed with another bloke.

This time we're coming back to White Hart Lane and Florentino Perez is hanging out the the back of Gareth Bale...

We've spend nearly £60m this summer with pretty reliable news we will spend plenty more.

Your.point being what exaclty? Two league cups in 20years?

The complete failure to adequately replace any of the above within 10 years?

Sell you best and you tread water.

Yet not one single article in any offline or online publication here or abroad has alluded to a deal being done and dusted two weeks ago. Quite the contrary.... Two weeks ago a deal and not one peep out of a players, tea ladies or the combined force of the sensationalist british and spanish media....

I don't buy it tbh.

Agreed and Spurs are massively anal about PR these days.

Another point with the "deal done weeks ago" point.

Spurs came out very forcefully on twitter about the whole background change saga. I'd be very surprised if they did that if we knew 100% he was leaving.
