If Bale goes, we need to spend the money from him on a new attacking winger/striker and a LB, with the other signeings I think we will then have a stronger "squad" for a team game. Don't want him to go, but if he does it has to be right for the club with other top quality players coming in before he goes.

I would love Willian and Lamela, but I honestly don't think that's possible. Ljajic and Lamela would be fantastic business and there's other creative AM/Wingers out there that would obviously come at a cheaper price and still give us great production. Lamela takes precedence if Bale is on the outs in my opinion.

I think we all probably knew that about Bale, we just hoped it was not the case. Tbh I'm so fed up with it all I don't care if he stays or goes. I just hope we replace him with someone that can score goals + Soldado's to push us upwards through the top 4.

Not to mention that Marca would've stopped their relentless stories about Bale etc etc. It's pretty hard to believe a deal has been agreed when all the evidence from the Madrid side says otherwise.

JJ said LLM's info is very good a week or so ago, and LLM was adamant Bale was staying.

If a deal was done weeks ago, you wouldn't expect JJ to say this.

Agree. Could be that the goat's latest and the Robert Maxwell bit go together - a deal was agreed in principle a few weeks ago, but RM over-promised and can't deliver the lump sum up front. Still wouldn't be surprised if he leaves, but I don't think we really learned anything new today.

It is not a normal deal. Maybe only Levy/ Lewis/ Bale know anything about it. They know about potential leaks and it is just about so much money they probably told Bale to shut up and then he gets his move. We will see. Soon it's over thankfully.

Somehow I managed to detach Rome and Italy from each other and think about them separately. Its probably the same strong herb that caused me to initially write that meandering post about stalking Baldini.

AVB wouldn't have said he's looking to a future with Bale either, would he?

This Bale saga tells me that several sources here different things regarding a transfer. I think this one especially, we can only rely on anything put on the OS to be honest. Not knocking ITKs or bashing their info, just think everyone has something to say about the biggest transfer in history and may have heard little things here or there, possibly through Chinese whispers themselves.
