Poch & Staff seem to work well with "The Yout", maybe bringing Berahino back into line is something that can be done relatively quickly. Might be the making of him.
He's miles better than both. Not if he's in terrible condition and not putting much effort in though. I think he will be brilliant for us. He's desperate to come here, Poch will get him working his Arse off and improve him no end. Attitude of the team will run off on him and he can enjoy his football. Never seen such an over reaction to a 22 kid who's just learning life
Berahino would be above average age in our squad. One who would be expected to show maturity, not be battling the teachers

No he wouldn't, we would only have 4 players younger, 4 players the same age and the rest would be older (based on players that actually get playing time in the league).Berahino would be above average age in our squad. One who would be expected to show maturity, not be battling the teachers
Problem is he would not be first choice. He will be a bench player mainly. I do not think he has the right temperament for this role.'tis a fair point. None of us know that he'll be battling the teachers at our club, though
(Did I just defend Berahino?)

This is what I don't get, people here keep saying he won't suit our formation or way of playing when I think it is better to have a squad of players with different strengths, which allows a change of formation during games and/or the ability to set the team up slightly differently for different opposition.Unless Poch, as I suspect is the case, intends to use Berahino as one of the wide attackers in the 3 behind Kane.
I can only see that as the plan? That's what makes the desire for his signature so confusing, as we are obviously extremely well stacked in that particular department.
Maybe there's a formation change on the horizon?

Not according to this article:Our average squad age is 23.3. Berahino is 23.5. About average
I think that was the plan in the summer.
But Berahino is no where near as good as Son, Lamela or Dembele in those roles
So I believe he was an option before Son settled so quickly and Lamela blossomed massively. But not now
Poch is a progressive coach. He's hardly going to go back to a 1980s/90s 4-4-2 to accommodate an average player like Berahino.

No mate, you're misunderstanding what I was saying. We are an extremely well stacked side when it comes to "attacking personnel".
What have we got, Chadli, Lamela, Eriksen, Pritchard, Townsend (though not for long) , Dembele?, Son, N'jie, Coulthirst, and even Alli.
We don't (Poch doesn't) appear to switch things up too much/often, when it comes to formations, and even personnel. I've just listed 10 players there that "can" play as an 'attacker' , but our only 'striker' option, is Harry Kane. He's being over-used, is looking absolutely shattered but, because of no other 'striker' to call upon, we have little choice but to use him.
I've seen the many quotes from Poch, in which he's stated he has other players who 'can' play as a striker, yet he hasn't used them there, and he hasn't changed formation to allow Kane a break.
I simply don't understand what Poch's plans are for Berahino, IF we sign him ?. As I said, maybe he has a formation change in mind? I still think we have a squad that is suited to 4-3-3, but I'm sure someone will respond by saying we currently play a derivative of that formation.

Berahino, certainly isn't a like for like change, for Kane, but then again who is?
Barahino is a different kind of player, he's still a striker - his hold up play is not as strong as HArry's and he would probably offer much less in terms of all round attacking play than Harry, but he would certainly be the guy on the pitch who's job it would be to stick the ball in the net.
There would be no reason that we couldn't play the same formation, but the attacking emphasis would have to change. We would probably rely much more on counter-attacking and balls into feet in the box - but there'd be no reason that we would have to make drastic personel or formational changes on the pitch to compliment Berahino's inclusion in the first 11 in place of Harry.
