Even great men need a break. I had one yesterday and i'm having another this weekend.​

So here's your usual weekend thread, try not to spam it. I've a list of names of those who were absolutely hammering this thread to death with spam yesterday and especially last night......Oh yes, a list. The banstick has been warmed up and the rubber dil taken out of the glass display case.​

Looks like this one will definitely happen, sooner or later a premiership club will take a punt on huntelaar, I would love it to be spurs, still think we will do some big business this window

I'm amazed at just how quiet this window has been. 57 pieces of ITK? That's pathetic!

We're either in for an explosion of transfer activity next week (nothing will happen at the weekend) or the more likely option of Fryers being it for January.

So we face disappointment regarding moutinho, are we realistic suitors for m'vila? What are the chances of getting him

Fryers already done. Addressed the balance lack of Natural LB's in the squad. We now have 3 RB's (one out on loan) and 3 LB's (one out on loan).

Holtby imagine will be today/tomorrow, played his final match last night, including substitution before the end so as to get his farewell. Add an extra dimension of creativity that we wanted Moutinho for, but think he has just proved too expensive.

Sissoko or M'villa in the next couple of days. Address the need for some added dynamism in the heart of midfield with Sandro out for the season. Think M'villa is a little more like for like, but Sissoko more economical given his contractual situation.

Maybe Negredo towards the end of the week. Add some extra depth and firepower up top. Sevilla want shot, so should be available under market value. If it proves too difficult, maybe Szalai who was linked as a bargain project from Mainz (played well with Holtby previously).

Somewhere in amongst that will be a player from RM. Callejon likely to give us some competition in the RW/WF area, but possibly Morata instead if we fail to get Negredo.

If we pull that off, which I do think is very possible, then I think it'll one of our best winter windows for some time. Targeted areas of weakness on our squad and improved/upgraded them.
All for not too much cash layout. Holtby will be £1-2m, Sissoko would possibly be similar. Fryers hasn't actually been reported, but can't see it being much more than that aswell. M'villa is being touted round at around £7-8m, Negredo £12-15m depending where you read it. Sure Kevy could shave a couple of million off Negredo's price given how desperate Sevilla seem to cash in. Szalai was rumoured to be about £3m.

Obviously this is strictly opinion.

I would be happy enough if we signed M'vila but at the same time I'd argue that Diame would be the safer bet, no character issues to speak of and proven, to a degree, in the prem. Also available for as little as 4 mil, probably half of what we'd pay for M'Vila.

We ALL want JM but its clearly not a simple deal to do with Porto and besides, do we even know at this point if the player still wants to come. I would argue that we have to wait till the summer, ensure we have CL football and then we have all we need to bring him in.

In the meantime I'd like to see us bring in Holtby in Jan, Diame or M'Vila now that Sandro is out and Parker ain't getting any younger and then try and do something for a striker......although I probably couldn't be more bored of hearing about Leandro f'ing Damiao. Negredo would be my choice.

I think someone needs to be fair with AVB and tell him he isn't getting Moutinho. He clearly still thinks he might be.

with all this AVB getting let down time and time again how realistic can he stay with Spurs?
