The good news is that we are still in negotiations with players. Too many times in the past it seems like we’ve just given up even when players were needed. Bad news is obviously they could all fall over but at least we are still attempting to get one in.

Aye, it’s just as important to get the right kind of players/personalities into the club rather than just anyone.

We’d be pissing ourselves if West Ham were signing Balotelli but I suppose needs must..

them getting benteke is just fine with me. Trix’s words are gospel and with the players we have now we can use different formations to hopefully retain a threat without a recognised striker. Makes you wonder if we’re looking at a serious cover for Kane in the summer if we get a stopgap now. herc said he’d be better rested next season so for me makes more sense to wait for the right player. Balo would be great for the lols tho.

The ITK today that Eze was at our training ground, is he coming this window? There seems to be a bit of news that he might be going to Palace?

Can't say I would have guessed in August that by January we'd be managed by Mourinho contemplating Giroud or Balotelli leading the forward line.

It's doable, and not the only one that is. We don't want to shell out lots on a striker that will hardly play, and could hold back TP in the long term.

Two key points there.
1. Still ongoing, and deals still viable out there.
2. There is a longer term plan, don’t stifle talented younger players opportunities just for the sake of it.

Looks like another day of not getting much work done for me tomorrow.

We had everything agreed with Piatek, then Hertha came in with a bid to buy him. We were offered the same deal but he was seen as a risk. JM would like Giroud, as he will be able to slot straight in and is ok with being back up. It's doable, and not the only one that is. We don't want to shell out lots on a striker that will hardly play, and could hold back TP in the long term.
Thanks Trix, awesome info! Good to hear we still have some irons in the fire. Just cannot see why Chelsea would strengthen us with Giroud as their main top4 rivals unless they sign another striker instead perhaps, I think Giroud would be a fantastic fit if we can get it done. Also makes sense about TP but at the same time while that’s admirable of the club to try to not block his path, he’s 17 so looks a good few years of loans and learning off being ready for our first team in which case we really absolutely need another quality striking option for the next 2 seasons at least IMO. Giroud could certainly do that job I think.

Still time COYS.

I’ve already accepted this season has been an absolute joke, so I’m in for Mario. Bollocks, it’s a risk but what the hell?

*Although my sense tells me Giroud short term.

Willing to run the risk of him getting a red in a big match if the alternative is Llorente starting the game because we might as well be playing with 10 when he's on the pitch. Also the scenes when he wins us the cup with an overhead kick and cups his ears to the Gooners.
Would this be the Llorente who scored the winner against City and changed the game against Ajax in the CL last year? He wouldn’t be my choice but like playing with 10 men is a little harsh

The other good news is that Jose is happy and Levy has not fucked him off !

No, William Jose.

Really? Can't see William Jose as easily doable short term solution and unlike Slimani haven't seen him much linked to MU. However there are new links regarding Rondon to MU, he seems more like short term option and could be the mystery man.
